Common use of Flight Crew Captain Clause in Contracts

Flight Crew Captain. An employee regularly assigned to perform as a Flight Crew Captain shall be eligible to receive a bi-weekly differential equivalent to 12.5% of the top step Firefighter Paramedic level. The Flight Crew Captain shall be required to hold the rank of Captain and shall oversee all helicopter operations in special operations, including, but not limited to, daily flight operations, rescue hoist operations, wildland air operations, paramedic duties for air rescue transport, search and rescue, and command control. An employee who is designated by the Department and meets the criteria for inclusion as a Flight Crew Captain (e.g., has the necessary hoist qualifications and has completed ground school) who is not assigned as a Flight Crew Captain shall be eligible to receive a bi-weekly differential equivalent to 1.5% of the top step Firefighter Paramedic level per pay period, to maintain the necessary hoist qualifications and ground school education.
