FIRST AID ATTENDANT. Employees who take time off at the direction of the Employer to take a recognized Industrial First Aid Program shall not suffer a loss of regular pay.
FIRST AID ATTENDANT. 1. The Board shall pay an allowance per annum, as follows, to designated teachers holding an approved First-Aid Certificate. The cost of the fees for obtaining and renewing such certificate shall be reimbursed by the Board upon presentation of proof of successful completion.
a. Effective July 1, 2019 $314.61 b. Effective July 1, 2020 $320.90 c. Effective July 1, 2021 $327.32 2. A teacher providing first aid to students is deemed to be acting within the scope of their employment and is covered by the Board’s insurance policy.
FIRST AID ATTENDANT. (a) (1) Workers' Compensation Board first aid requirements shall be fully complied with. Those employees who are required by OC to hold a valid first aid attendant's certificate, and whose normal duties include first aid work, shall be granted additional compensation as follows: This stipend will be adjusted to reflect any higher rate awarded to any of OC's other certified bargaining units or Administrators' Association.
(b) OC shall grant leave with pay equivalent to the actual time spent to complete the course and exam in accordance with WCB regulations for designated regular employees to upgrade or renew the Occupational First Aid certification.
(c) OC agrees to reimburse designated regular employees and auxiliary employees who have accumulated the equivalent of 2 years full-time service with OC with a current appointment of 3 consecutive months or more for any tuition fees, textbook charges, or examination fees associated with the upgrading or renewal of First Aid certification upon receipt of proof of the employee's successful completion of such upgrading or renewal, and upon the submission of receipts.
(d) Upon the prior approval of the Director, Human Resources OC shall reimburse designated employees for the actual damages incurred to an employee's personal clothing or property while in the course of their first aid duties.
FIRST AID ATTENDANT. 1. The Board shall pay an allowance to a teacher or teachers holding a valid Industrial First Aid certificate and acting as First Aid attendant in each school as required under the WCB Regulations.
2. The Board shall reimburse the applicable course fees for any teacher for the acquisition and/or renewal of a valid Industrial First Aid certificate, subject to successful completion of the course.
3. It will be the responsibility of the teacher to apply for this reimbursement and provide proof of payment and proof of successful completion of the course.
FIRST AID ATTENDANT. Any employee classified in this Agreement also employed in the capacity of First Aid Attendant shall receive $60.00 per month or 50¢ per hour if they are a holder of a Level III Ticket, $50.00 per month or 40¢ per hour for a Level II Ticket or 20¢ per hour for a Level I ticket when it is being used. In addition to the regular wage, the additional monthly payment shall not be recognized in the computation of the employee’s regular hourly rate.
FIRST AID ATTENDANT. An employee required by the Employer to possess a valid Level 2 first-aid certificate shall receive over his/her regular rate: $120.00 per month Where TRU requires an employee to perform first aid duties in addition to the normal requirements of the job the cost of obtaining and renewing the occupational First Aid Cer- tificate shall be borne by the University and leave to take the necessary courses shall be granted with pay.
FIRST AID ATTENDANT. (a) The Board will pay to the designated and qualified First Aid Attendant an hourly premium as follows: Level I $ .50 Level II $ .65 Level III $ .85 The Board shall determine the level of qualification required in accordance with W.C.B. Occupational First Aid Regulations – Schedule 1. No present incumbent shall incur a premium reduction.
(b) Eligible employees for this designation will be limited to staff employed at the school in question whose shift coincides with the hours school is in session.
(c) The Industrial First Aid position will be posted as a separate item and will not be attached to the position the incumbent holds.
(d) Selection criteria for the position in order of priority would be based upon: - Certification - Seniority - Commitment to the earliest possible certification
(e) In the event that an employee should not obtain the certificate at the conclusion of the course, the Board reserves the right to re-post the position and exclude that employee from the competition.

2. A designated first aid attendant shall hold or be in training for a recognized first aid certificate.
3. The Board shall reimburse employees for course fees associated with the completion of any recognized first aid certificate. This may include any resits necessary for successful completion of requirements.
4. All work sites with fifty (50) or more employees will have up to two (2) designated industrial first aid attendants. Secondary schools with less than fifty (50) employees will have one (1) designated industrial first aid attendant. These attendants shall be compensated in the amount of $1020/year. [Note B.1.2 for compensation increases] This allowance shall be adjusted as follows: Effective July 1, 2013 $ 1,148.41 Effective September 1, 2014 $ 1,171.38 Effective January 1, 2015 $ 1,186.02 Effective May 1, 2016 $ 1,191.36 Effective July 1, 2016 $ 1,203.27 Effective May 1, 2017 $ 1,203.27 Effective July 1, 2017 $ 1,209.29 Effective May 1, 2018 $ 1,221.38 Effective July 1, 2018 $ 1,227.49 Effective May 1, 2019 $ 1,239.76 *any calculation made in accordance with provincial Letter of Understanding No. 14 Re: Economic Stability Dividend will be applied as a percentage increase on the current collective agreement salary rates and applicable allowance rates. All future increases will be based on the newly revised rate with ESD.
5. All other work sites will have a designated attendant with minimum certification of Safety Oriented First Aid (S.O.F.A.). These attendants shall be compensated in the amount of

FIRST AID ATTENDANT. 21.01 A First-Aid Attendant will be paid at a rate equal to his hourly rate plus twenty-five (25) cents per hour. The gross rate will be his base hourly rate for the purpose of calculating overtime.
