Formal Observation Procedure. All formal observations shall be preceded by a conference between the evaluator and the employee prior to the observation in order for the employee to explain plans and objectives for the classroom situation to be observed.
Formal Observation Procedure. A minimum of two (2) formal observations shall be conducted to support summative evaluation. A formal observation shall last a minimum of thirty (30) continuous minutes. Efforts will be made by evaluators to facilitate a longitudinal view of a teacher's performance by appropriately spacing the observations. There shall be a minimum of (5) school days between formal non-continuous observations one and two. If a third observation is necessary, there shall at least (25) school days between observation number 2 and observation number 3 to xxxxxx improvement.
Formal Observation Procedure. A minimum of two (2) formal observations shall be conducted to support summative evaluation. A formal observation shall last a minimum of thirty
Formal Observation Procedure. The first formal observation shall be preceded by a conference between the evaluator and the employee prior to the observation in order for the employee to explain the plans and objectives for the classroom situation to be observed. The second observation may be unannounced. The third formal observation (if conducted) may be unannounced. The employee will be given at least two (2) school days’ notice of the date and time of any pre-conference.
Formal Observation Procedure. 1. All formal observations shall be preceded by a conference no more than five (5) school days prior to each observation between the evaluator and the employee prior to the observation in order for the employee to explain plans and objectives for the classroom situation to be observed.
2. All formal observations shall be at least thirty (30) minutes in duration.
3. A post-observation conference shall be held no more than five (5) school days after each formal observation.
4. A teacher may take a representative to any and all conferences under this procedure.
Formal Observation Procedure. The observations will not be conducted when school counselors are engaged in counseling activities with students that require confidentiality. All formal observations shall be preceded by a conference between the evaluator and the employee prior to the observation in order for the employee to explain plans and objectives for the classroom situation to be observed.
Formal Observation Procedure. (1) A minimum of one (1) observation shall be conducted to support each performance evaluation.
(2) The observation shall be preceded by a conference between the evaluator and employee prior to the observation in order for the employee to explain plans and objectives for the classroom situation to be observed.
(3) A post-observation conference shall be held after each formal observation. The post-observation conference shall be held within seven (7) school days of the observation.
(4) Absence by either will stay the days until the party returns.
(5) In the case of an improvement plan, the teacher and administrator shall mutually agree to a reasonable growth timeline.
Formal Observation Procedure. A minimum of two (2) formal observations shall be conducted to support summative evaluation. A formal observation shall last a minimum of thirty (30) continuous minutes. During the classroom observation the Evaluator will document specific information related to teaching and learning. Each formal observation will be analyzed by the Evaluator using the Teacher Performance Evaluation Rubric. Efforts will be made by Evaluators to facilitate a longitudinal view of a teacher's performance by appropriately spacing the observations. Teachers shall not receive a formal observation on a day before or after any break of more than three (3) days, which includes weekend days.
A. Formal observations shall be preceded by a conference between the Evaluator and the employee no more than five (5) days prior to the observation in order for the employee to explain plans and objectives for the classroom situation to be observed. At the pre- observation conference teachers shall provide evidence for the classroom situation to be observed on the pre-observation form (Appendix) and the parties shall agree to the date, class and/or prep for the observation.
B. A post-observation conference shall be held after each formal observation. The post observation conference shall take place within five (5) working days following the formal observation. The evaluator shall provide the teacher with copies of all written documentation relating to the observation. The conference shall be used to inform the teacher if observed instructional practices are aligned with the expectations that are identified in the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession as defined in the Teacher Performance Evaluation Rubric, the teacher’s professional growth or improvement plan, and afford the teacher the opportunity to provide additional evidence of performance.
Formal Observation Procedure. Overview: The evaluation of a teacher on a formal cycle shall include submission of a Professional Growth Plan (PGP), a pre-observation conference, a holistic observation in the fall of at least 30 minutes, followed by a post-conference in which the educator and evaluator will mutually agree upon an area of growth to serve as the focus of future walkthroughs and the final focused evaluation in the spring, followed by a summative conference. Process: A minimum of two (2) formal observations shall be conducted: The first formal observation will be a holistic observation, in the fall, wherein the evaluator shall assess all areas of the rubric demonstrated during the observation, as well as give consideration to the information gained from any pre-observation conference or other resources provided by the teacher. After completion of the holistic observation, identified focus areas, which may include area(s) of relative strength and/or area(s) targeted for improvement, will be developed in accordance with the following: ● A teacher with a final evaluation rating of Accomplished (from the previous year) will select his/her own focus area(s). ● A teacher with a final evaluation rating of Skilled (from the previous year) will select focus area(s) in collaboration with his/her evaluator. ● A teacher with a final evaluation rating of Developing (from the previous year) will be guided by his/her evaluator in determining focus area(s). ● A teacher with a final evaluation rating of Ineffective (from the previous year) will have focus area(s) selected by the evaluator. ● A teacher new to the profession will select focus area(s) in collaboration with his/her evaluator. The second, and any subsequent, formal observation(s) in the spring will be a focused observation in which the evaluator assesses growth and/or development in an identified focus area(s). Each formal observation shall last a minimum of thirty (30) continuous minutes. There shall be at least two weeks between formal non-continuous observations unless otherwise agreed to by the teacher. Efforts will be made by evaluators to facilitate a longitudinal view of a teacher’s performance by appropriately spacing the observations. Evaluators will collect evidence during the focused observation to assess the identified focus area(s). Evaluators will also document evidence to support the final evaluation rating. Teachers shall not receive a formal observation on a day before or after any break of more than three
Formal Observation Procedure. (1) A teacher not under consideration for renewal or nonrenewal who is subject to a full evaluation cycle shall be evaluated based on at least two
(2) formal observations. A formal observation shall last at least thirty (30) continuous minutes and periodic walkthroughs each school year. There shall be at least two (2) weeks between formal observations. The first formal observation shall be completed by the end of the first semester. The first formal observation will be a holistic observation where the evaluator assesses all areas of the rubric demonstrated during the observation as well as information gained from any pre-observation conference or other sources selected by the evaluator. The second and any subsequent formal observation(s) will be focused observations in which the evaluator emphasizes identified focus area(s). Identified focus areas will be selected after completion of the holistic observation, and may include area(s) of relative strength and/or area(s) targeted for improvement. Teachers with a final evaluation rating of Accomplished (from the previous year) will select their own focus area(s). A teacher with a final evaluation rating of Skilled (from the previous year) will select focus area(s) in joint/collaboration with his/her evaluator. A teacher with a final evaluation rating of Developing (from the previous year) will be guided by his/her evaluator in determining focus area(s). A teacher with a final evaluation rating of Ineffective (from the previous year) will have focus area(s) selected by the evaluator. A teacher new to the profession will select focus area(s) in collaboration with his/her evaluator. Evaluators will collect evidence during the focused observation to assess the identified focus area(s). Evaluators will also document evidence to support the final evaluation rating.
