Freedom of Expression. 1.2.1 Academic freedom is essential to the fulfillment of the educational purposes of the Dublin Unified School District. 1.2.2 Freedom of individual expression is encouraged by the Board of Trustees. 1.2.3 It is mutually recognized that freedom carries with it responsibility. 1.2.4 Academic freedom also carries with it academic responsibility which is determined by the basic ideals, goals, and institutions of the local community. Discussion and analysis of controversial issues should be conducted within the framework of the fundamental values of the community, as they are expressed in the educational philosophy and objectives of the Board of Trustees.
