Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. No amendment to this Constitution may eliminate or diminish any of the rights and freedoms referred to in Article II of this Constitution or alter the present paragraph.
Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. 1.6.1 The Republic of the Sudan, including all levels of Government throughout the country, shall comply fully with its obligations under the international human rights treaties to which it is or becomes a party. These include the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Slavery Convention of 1926, as amended, and the related Supplementary Convention, the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid, the International Convention Against Apartheid in Sports, the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees and the Related Protocol, and the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights. The Republic of the Sudan should endeavor to ratify other human rights treaties which it has signed.
Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. 1. All authorities in Kosovo shall ensure internationally recognized human rights and fundamental freedoms.
2. The rights and freedoms set forth in the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and its Protocols shall apply directly in Kosovo. Other internationally recognized human rights instruments enacted into law by the Kosovo Assembly shall also apply. These rights and freedoms shall have priority over all other law.
3. All courts, agencies, governmental institutions, and other public institutions of Kosovo or operating in relation to Kosovo shall conform to these human rights and fundamental freedoms.
Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. Article III: Article VII: Article VIII: Article XII: Annex II: PREAMBLE
Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. The Parties shall cooperate in the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, and enhance dialogue and cooperation with the aim of:
(a) ensuring the respect for human rights, the principle of non-discrimination and the rights of persons belonging to minorities and vulnerable groups;
(b) ensuring the protection of fundamental freedoms, including freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and of association; freedom of the media and freedom of religion;
(c) promoting economic, social and cultural rights;
(d) promoting gender equality, promoting, protecting and fulfilling girls' and women's rights, including by ensuring their active participation in private and public spheres;
(e) strengthening national human-rights-related institutions, including through their participation in the decision making processes;
(f) strengthening cooperation within the United Nations human rights bodies and Special Procedures of the Human Rights Council, including a proper follow-up of their recommendations in accordance with national legislation of the Parties.
Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. 1. Human Rights. Bosnia and Herzegovina and both Entities shall ensure the highest level of internationally recognized human rights and fundamental freedoms. To that end, there shall be a Human Rights Commission for Bosnia and Herzegovina as provided for in Annex 6 to the General Framework Agreement.
Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. 1.6.2. The rights and freedoms to be enjoyed under Sudanese law, in accordance with the provisions of the treaties referred to above, include in particular the following: 1.
Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. 23. Citizenship shall be the basis for civil and political rights and obligations.
24. The Parties reiterate their commitment to respect and promote human rights and fundamental freedoms as detailed below and in international human rights covenants ratified by the Government of the Sudan.
25. Every person is entitled to freedom, safety and security. No person shall be subjected to arrest, detention, deprivation or restriction of her/ his liberty, except in accordance with measures prescribed by the law and, in particular, in accordance with measures prescribed by criminal procedure law or judicial orders.
(a) An accused person is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty according to the law.
(b) Every person who is arrested shall be informed, at the time of arrest, of the reasons for the arrest and shall be immediately informed of the charges held against her/him. An accused person has the right to defend herself/himself in person or through a lawyer of her/his own choice. Legal aid shall be assigned to her/him by the state where she/he is unable to defend herself/himself in serious offences.
(c) An accused person is entitled to a fair trial within a reasonable time as stipulated by the law. The law shall regulate trial in absentia.
(d) In all civil and criminal proceedings, every person shall be entitled to a fair and public hearing by an ordinary competent court of law in accordance with procedures prescribed by the law.
(e) No accused person shall be charged with any act or omission, which did not constitute an offence at the time of its alleged commission.
(f) No person shall be denied the right to resort to justice. The right to litigation shall be guaranteed for all persons.
26. Every human being has a right to life, dignity and the integrity of her/his person. No person shall be arbitrarily deprived of her/his life.
27. All persons are equal before the law and are entitled, without discrimination as to race, colour, gender, language, religious creed, political or other opinion, to the equal protection of the Constitution and the law.
(a) Women and men shall enjoy all civil and political rights enshrined in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, as well as all economic, social and cultural rights in the International Covenant ratified by the Government of the Sudan.
(b) Family is the basis of society and shall be protected by the law. Men and women shall enjoy the right to marry and found a family, in accordance with their respe...
Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. 1. The Parties shall ensure respect for internationally recognized human rights and fundamental freedoms in Kosovo.
2. Applicable rights and freedoms shall include those specified in the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and its Protocols.
(a) The rights and freedoms set forth in the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and its Protocols shall apply directly in Kosovo. These shall have priority over all other law.
(b) All courts, agencies government institutions, and instrumentalities of the Parties and all of their officials and employees shall conform to these human rights and fundamental freedoms.
Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. Article 1
(a) Subject to Article V.2, all persons within the territory of the Union of Republics of Bosnia and Herzegovina shall be entitled to enjoy the rights freedoms provided for in the instruments listed in Annex C.
(b) Should there be any discrepancy between the rights and freedoms specified in any of these instruments, or between any of these and the rights and freedoms specified in any other legal provision in force, the provision providing the greater protection for human rights and fundamental freedoms shall be applied.
