Common use of Full-time/Part-time Ratio Clause in Contracts

Full-time/Part-time Ratio. The parties agree the main purpose of part-time employees is to augment the regular full-time work force and to fulfill the needs of the business, wherein the Employer is allowed to remain competitive in the marketplace in which it functions. However the ratio of supplemental part-time employees shall not exceed twenty percent (20%) of the total workforce excluding those part-time employees who are being utilized to replace full-time employees who are not present as a result of vacation utilization, illness etc. To insure the utilization of part-time employees is not abused the following formula shall be utilized: 1) Determine the regular hours worked by all employees during the six
