Common use of GENERAL PURPOSE OF AGREEMENT Clause in Contracts

GENERAL PURPOSE OF AGREEMENT. Section 1. The general purpose of this Agreement is to promote the mutual interests of the City and the Union to provide for the operation of the Utility under the methods which will further to the fullest extent possible the safety and welfare of the employees, economy of operation, elimination of waste, quantity and quality of output, and protection of property. Section 2. It is recognized by the Agreement to be the duty of the City and of the Union to cooperate fully, individually and collectively, for the advancement of said conditions. Section 3. Both parties hereto agree that this Agreement covers all work done by the employees of the different classifications scheduled herein, and that for the purpose of clarification of any clause that may hereafter be in question of interpretation, a statement covering the correct intent of such clause in question shall be agreed upon by both parties and attached hereto and made a part of this Agreement.
