Common use of Grievant and Representation Clause in Contracts

Grievant and Representation. A. An individual teacher or group of teachers may present a grievance and may do so with the aid of the exclusive representative. The exclusive representative will thus be given an opportunity to be present at all stages of the grievance machinery. The adjustment of any grievance shall not be inconsistent with the terms of this Contract. The purpose of the grievance procedure is to settle grievances which may arise at the lowest possible administrative level. B. The Association shall have the right to file system-wide grievances at Step Three, subject to the time limits of Step Two, paragraph 3.
