Holiday Options Clause Samples
The Holiday Options clause defines the terms under which an employee or party may take time off from their regular duties, typically for vacation or personal reasons. It outlines the process for requesting holidays, any limitations on when holidays can be taken, and how much notice must be given. This clause ensures both parties have a clear understanding of how holiday leave is managed, helping to prevent misunderstandings and maintain smooth operations during absences.
Holiday Options. Holiday credit shall, at the option of the member, be paid or used in one of the following three (3) ways:
A. Forty (40) hours of paid holiday leave (to be credited on January 1), taken at mutually agreeable times, with an additional forty (40) hours of pay in a separate check prior to December 1st.
B. Eighty (80) hours of paid holiday leave for the holidays throughout the year (to be credited on January 1), taken at mutually agreeable times.
C. Check for eighty (80) hours of pay in separate checks prior to December 1st.
D. The foregoing holidays shall be taken in the year in which they are earned and/or credited. Holiday leave shall be taken in multiples of one (1) day. Any unused holiday leave shall be forfeited without pay at the close of each calendar year.
Holiday Options. All employees shall have the option to either:
a. Time off with pay on the designated holiday equal to their average daily compensation.
b. Compensating time off on another regularly scheduled day of work equal to their average daily hours of work.
c. Extra compensation equal to their average daily compensation. Selection will be with mutual agreement with the school principal.
Holiday Options. 3.6.4.1 Option 1 – Bi-weekly Payout. Employees working a 56-hour schedule accrue 12 hours per month and will be paid as accrued (5.538 hours) each pay period. Option 2 – Holiday Bank. Holiday hours accrue at 12 hours per month (5.538 hours each pay period). Unused bank balances will be automatically paid out at designated time each year.
3.6.4.2 Employees working a 40-hour schedule will continue to receive their regular pay for each holiday (8 hours) observed by the City.
Holiday Options. 3.6.4.1 Take Leave accumulation in a bank in which the balances will be automatically paid out at designated time of the year; or
3.6.4.2 Safety personnel (56-hour week) accrue 12 hours per month and will be paid as accrued (5.538 hours) each pay period.
3.6.4.3 Declaration process for Holiday hours. Failure to elect any holiday option by the designated day will result in status quo (payout continues). The annual holiday option process is as follows:
3.6.4.3.1 May 1 all years, members will elect either holiday hours in time off or payout.
3.6.4.3.2 Pay out results in pay as described above.
Holiday Options. If an Employee works on a General Holiday, the Employee shall have the following options:
(a) To receive holiday pay for the General Holiday, plus double time for the time worked on the Holiday, or
(b) To receive double time for the time worked on the Holiday, and to take a paid day off on another day, in lieu of Holiday pay.
(c) If an Employee elects (b) above, the Holiday, including a Floating Holiday not utilized, must be taken by December 31st of that year or the Holiday will be paid out during the next pay period.
Holiday Options. Bargaining unit members on a 40-hour shift may, with the approval of the Chief or his designee, work a holiday and bank the holiday hours in their holiday bank. Members shall submit a request for time off form in ample time for scheduling to be finalized prior to the holiday they are requesting to work.
