Holidays in lieu. (a) When Christmas Day is a Saturday or a Sunday, a holiday in lieu thereof will be observed on 27 December.

Holidays in lieu. 50.2.1 When Christmas Day is a Saturday or a Sunday, a holiday in lieu thereof shall be observed on 27 December.

Where a statutory holiday falls on a full-time employee's day off, the employee shall be entitled to receive another day off in lieu, an additional day added to their annual leave entitlement or be paid an additional day's wages at ordinary rates. This sub-clause shall not apply to Easter Saturday unless the employee works ordinary hours in accordance with a roster which provides for ordinary hours to be worked on a Saturday.

Holidays in lieu. A Nurse who is entitled to time off with pay may choose alternative days as Holidays in lieu of Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Christmas and/or Boxing Day pursuant to Article 10.22 (c), 10.24 (a) (ii) and/or 10.25 (a) (ii), to take such time with pay in lieu at a time that permits the Nurse to observe a holiday on the day of religious, cultural or spiritual significance to the Nurse in lieu of the holidays identified pursuant to this Article. The Nurse shall advise the Nurse’s immediate management supervisor in writing of the Nurse’s desire to take such day(s) off in lieu as soon as possible but before March 1st in each year and the immediate management supervisor will endeavour to grant the request where operational requirements permit.
Holidays in lieu. Should any of the holidays mentioned in clause 10.6.1 fall on a full-time employee’s day or days off such employee shall receive another one or 2 days off as the case may be in lieu, or one or 2 days shall be added to the employee’s annual leave or alternatively, one or 2 days’ wages, at ordinary rates shall be paid in addition to the weekly wage. The provisions of clause 10.6.5 shall not apply to Easter Saturday unless the employee works ordinary hours in accordance with a roster, which provides for ordinary hours to be worked on a Saturday.
Holidays in lieu. (a) A Full-Time Employee who works on a Named Holiday shall be entitled to a Holiday-in-Lieu as follows:
(i) An alternate day off with pay at a mutually agreed time; or
(ii) By mutual agreement, a day off with pay added to their next annual vacation; or
(iii) The Employee may choose to receive payment for such day off with pay without taking the Holiday-in-Lieu. The Holiday-in-Lieu shall be paid at the Full-Time Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay for the hours scheduled on the day (shift) taken off.
(b) The Holiday-in-Lieu shall be taken within four (4) weeks after the Named Holiday on which it is earned. If the Holiday-in-Lieu cannot be scheduled within that 4-week period, it shall be paid out pursuant to clause 26.04(a)(iii).

The Employee shall advise their immediate management supervisor in writing of their desire to take such day(s) off in lieu as soon as possible but before March 1st in each year and the immediate management supervisor will endeavor to grant the request where operational requirements permit.
