Common use of HOLIDAYS WITH PAY Clause in Contracts

HOLIDAYS WITH PAY. 8.01 The following holidays will be paid for at the applicable hours and applicable rate will be paid at the time of the holiday: 1. New Year’s Day 7. Civic Holiday 2. Third Monday in February 8. Labour Day 3. Good Friday 9. Thanksgiving Day 4. Easter Monday 10. Christmas Day 5. Victoria Day 11. Boxing Day 6. Canada Day 8.02 To qualify for payment of the holidays in 8.01, an employee must have worked his/her last scheduled shift prior to the holiday or his/her first scheduled shift after the holiday. Exception to this would be absence due to vacation or certified sick leave. Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years’ Day will be granted in accordance with the following schedule when working the eight (8) hour shift model: When Christmas occurs on: Plant Normally Closed Paid Holidays New Year’s Day Sunday Sat.
