HOURS OF INSURABLE EARNINGS. Without prejudice to the number of hours actually worked by an individual teacher in connection with the teacher’s professional duties and for the limited purpose of completing the forms under the Employment Insurance Act and without prejudice to the respective positions of the Board and Union as to the number of hours worked on a daily basis by the average teacher. The undersigned parties have considered Section 10 of the regulation set out in the Canada Gazette, Part II, Vol. 130. No. 14 pertaining to Section 55 of the Employment Insurance Act. Section 10 provides methods so that employers can complete the Records of Employment for workers not paid on an hourly basis. The parties agree, under 10 (2) of this regulation that for the sole and exclusive purpose of reporting the hours of insurable earnings required under the Employment Insurance Act, that Members working a full time assignment shall be deemed to have worked at least eight (8) hours each work day they are employed. Part-time Members working a part of a day shall be deemed to have worked hours per day that are pro-rated accordingly. Dated at Burlington this 19th day of January, 2009.
