Common use of Increment Deferral Clause in Contracts

Increment Deferral. Leaves of Absence Any leaves of absence without pay, other than maternity, adoption, parental or education leave for more than 30 days which occurs prior to an employee's increment anniversary date will defer the increment and the employee's anniversary (increment) date will be adjusted by a time period equivalent to the period of the leave of absence. This amended date will become the employee's new anniversary date for increment purposes.
