Common use of Informal Complaint Stage Clause in Contracts

Informal Complaint Stage. The Parties agree that every reasonable effort should be made to resolve a complaint expeditiously and without prejudice through informal discussion. Any Employee or Group of Employees is encouraged to present a verbal complaint to their employment supervisor(s), or to the Xxxx of the School of Graduate Studies or designate in the case of grievances which are to be initiated at Step 2, in an attempt to settle such complaints through informal discussion before the formal grievance procedure is initiated. An informal complaint shall be initiated within ten (10) days after the alleged grievance has arisen. There is no requirement for formal documentation or correspondence at this informal complaint stage.
