Short Term Leave of Absence. A regular employee may be granted a leave of absence without pay by a Department Head when approved by the Director of Human Resources, for a period deemed necessary by the employee for the purpose of the leave, but not in excess of sixty (60) days. The employee requesting such leave must make written request at least two weeks in advance of the date leave is requested to begin, unless the reason for such a leave is of such an emergency nature as to preclude this requirement.
Short Term Leave of Absence. Short-term leave of absence may be requested for personal reasons, and may extend up to four (4) months. Approval for such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld, subject to workload requirements. Staff members may expect to return to the same position at the end of this leave. Any replacement approved shall be a contract appointment.
Short Term Leave of Absence. The University agrees to grant representatives of the Union leave of absence without pay for Union functions on the following basis:
Short Term Leave of Absence. 1. Leave of absence to attend summer sessions at universities outside British Columbia may be granted with or without pay at the discretion of the Board, provided that the teacher continues in the employ of the district for the following school year.
Short Term Leave of Absence. Employees who request time off without pay for a period of one full day (1) or less shall notify the Bus Xxxxxxx who shall deny or approve the request. Employees who request one (1) to four (4) full days off without pay shall submit said request in writing or verbally and in advance of the proposed time off to the Superintendent or his designee who shall approve or deny said request. In emergency situations, written requests may be submitted after the fact; however, it is understood that the employee will assume the responsibility in such an emergency of notifying the Superintendent or the employee's supervisor at the earliest possible time.
Short Term Leave of Absence. N.1 A short term leave of absence is any absence from the work place not covered in the leave portion (Article VII) of the negotiated agreement. Specifically, sick, personal, medical, maternity, jury duty and subpoena, military, military reserve leave, instructional delegate, professional, assault and bereavement leave.
Short Term Leave of Absence. A short term leave of absence without pay may be granted upon approval of the superintendent. The employee must request in writing two (2) weeks in advance of the leave to his/her supervisor. A written explanation of the leave must accompany the request. The leave may not interfere with the normal operation of the school. A short term leave may not exceed ten (10) working days per year.
Short Term Leave of Absence. If a short-term leave of absence is requested and approved by the Board of Education (more than one (1) week, but less than one (1) school term) in order for the teacher to continue to be a member of school district insurance plan, the teacher (after seven (7) days of a leave of absence without pay; commencing with the eighth day of leave without pay and continuing each day thereafter until the day of returning to his/her position) will be required to pay the school district the daily rate of the full cost of the health insurance plan/ or 403B plan paid by the Parkston School District.
Short Term Leave of Absence. The District may, at its sole discretion, grant leaves without pay for up to thirty (30) days provided that the unit member shall request the leave in writing stating the date that the leave is requested to commence and the date the leave is to terminate.
Short Term Leave of Absence. The Employer shall grant representatives of the Union leave of absence for up to three (3) months, providing SGEU reimburses the Employer for the employee's salary and benefits, to attend Union conventions or meetings outside the workplace providing reasonable notice, usually not less than one (1) weeks written notice, is given to the Employer by the employee. Leave shall not unreasonably interfere with the operations of the Employer and it shall not be unreasonably withheld.
