INITIAL SALARY STEP PLACEMENT. 11.2.2.1 New Unit Members compensated on Schedule A shall be placed on Step 1 of the schedule. For purposes of this section, a new Unit Member is a Unit Member who has not been previously placed and paid on Schedule A. 11.2.2.2 New Unit Members compensated on Schedule B shall be placed on Step 1 of the schedule. For purposes of this section, a new Unit Member is a Unit Member who has not been previously placed and paid on Schedule B. 11.2.2.3 Unit Members who have been initially placed in accordance with the above provisions, and who return after a break in service, shall be placed at the same salary step held immediately prior to the break in service.
