Salary Schedule Placement. College Training
A. Unit members qualifying for the “Entry Level Salary” shall remain at this level until they met the minimum requirements for placement on any other salary column (1-4). Upon verification of documentation qualifying unit members for placement upon any other salary column (1-4), the unit member shall then be placed upon the appropriate step on that salary column in accordance with his/her length of service.
B. School Nurses who have a Bachelor’s degree, qualify for crediting of previous experience, but have not completed 30 semester units after the Bachelor’s degree or the appropriate clear credential, shall be exempt from placement at “Entry Level Salary”; shall instead, be placed on Column 1; and shall advance on the salary schedule in accordance with the Agreement for unit members.
C. Unit members placed on “COLUMN 1” of the Salary Schedules by the agreement (Appendix C1) between the Association and the District shall advance on the schedule in accordance with that agreement (Appendix C1).
D. All college or university credits which will qualify a unit member for a new salary placement must be verified by official college or university transcripts in order to justify a contract revision. Such college or university credits must be obtained from an institution of higher learning which is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges or other recognized accreditation organization. Salary revision shall be effective following District approval (as stipulated by this Article) of the necessary credits for column advancement.
E. The unit requirement for each salary column is stated in semester hours of credit; quarter hour credits can be converted into semester hours by multiplying 2/3.
F. For salary schedule purposes, only semester units earned after the completion of the Bachelor’s Degree shall be considered.
G. Credit will not be granted for any course for which less than a "C" grade is earned.
H. Unit members shall not enroll in courses which conflict with the work day.
I. A major teaching field is considered to be 36 semester hours (12 of which must be upper division or graduate), a minor teaching field is considered to be 20 semester hours (8 of which must be upper division or graduate).

Salary Schedule Placement. 1. Credit hours for the purpose of placement on the salary schedule shall be defined as those semester hour credits earned for graduate courses that are within the teacher’s present certification or a planned program leading to additional areas of teacher certification, guidance or administration. Upon approval of the Superintendent, any other courses, graduate or undergraduate may be certified for proper placement on the salary schedule.
2. Credits must be earned in those institutions approved by the State Department of Education and the State Board of Regents in order to be considered for placement on the salary schedule. All steps indicated above the Bachelor’s Degree level signify that the teacher has earned that number of additional credits after receiving the bachelor’s or master’s degree.
3. Semester hours used for advanced salary schedule placement must be earned after completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree. This applies to certified staff members asking for advanced placement after Jan 1, 1998.
4. Each teacher who has completed training which qualifies that teacher for a higher salary bracket pursuant to O.R.C. Section §3317.14 shall file, either by the fifteenth (15th) day of September or the fifteenth (15th) day of January of any given school year with the Treasurer of the Board of Education, satisfactory evidence of the completion of such additional training. If the teacher files satisfactory evidence by the fifteenth day of September, the Treasurer shall place that teacher at that salary level for the entire school year. If the teacher provides satisfactory evidence by the fifteenth (15th) day of January, the Treasurer shall place that teacher at the appropriate salary level from January 1 until the end of the school year. Adjustment shall be made on either date, not to exceed one (1) adjustment per school year.
Salary Schedule Placement. All bargaining unit employees will have their base salaries set on the following salary schedule based on their years of service in their current job title and band. All employees who have been in their current job title and band for six or more years will have their base salaries set at the market salaries identified in the schedule for their job titles and band assignments. No employee will suffer a reduction in salary as a result of the pay schedule’s implementation.
Salary Schedule Placement. For the purpose of salary schedule placement, credit will be given for all District bargaining unit experience on a yearly basis or a greater portion thereof.
Salary Schedule Placement. 1. Experience is evaluated at time of entry.
2. New employees may, at the discretion of the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Operations, be given credit for not more than two (2) years previous work experience in related work and placed on step three (3) of the salary schedule in the appropriate classification.
3. The Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Operations may, at his/her nondelegable discretion, evaluate past experience and determine placement on the salary schedule with the appropriate classification.
Salary Schedule Placement. Certificated employees who are given a contract are placed initially on the 19 salary schedule in accordance with training completed at an accredited 20 college or university before the first day of their contract year and verified 21 within sixty (60) days after initial date of employment. 22
Salary Schedule Placement. 1. The employee's position on lanes of the salary schedule shall be determined by totaling the number of acceptable credits and degrees. All employees hired as of October 1, 1990 and employees re- hired by the SPS as of October 1, 1990 (who have been gone for five (5) years or more) will be placed on the salary schedule in accordance with their Bachelor's Degree and actual educational credits earned after the granting of that degree. Effective 10/01/90 additional credit hours earned after the granting of the Bachelor's Degree and credit for experience shall be applicable for advanced placement on the salary schedule provided that the credits and experience were recognized by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) in accordance with applicable provisions of WAC 392-121. If an employee holds two (2) or more Bachelor's degrees, eligible credits for advanced placement on the salary schedule shall be those credits earned after the granting of the employee's first Bachelor's Degree in any field.
2. An employee shall present all official transcripts in envelopes sealed by the college/university as soon as possible after a contract is offered. Transcripts for Human Resources are required in addition to transcripts sent to the Superintendent of Public Instruction, Olympia, Washington, for certification purposes. Submission of transcripts to Human Resources as college credits are earned is required for accurate salary placement.
a. A statement of evaluation of credits to be used to establish salary placement shall be sent to each employee new to Seattle Schools after his/her transcripts have been received and evaluated by Human Resources.
Salary Schedule Placement. 1. Teachers transferring into the Xxxxxxx Community Schools District shall be given full credit for teaching experience up to seven (7) years. The District may authorize additional teaching or relevant employment experience credit beyond seven (7) years. Any former teacher of the Xxxxxxx Community Schools who is re-employed within a period of not exceeding five (5) years shall be placed on the salary schedule at the next step above the one on which his/her salary was based when he/she left the District, or shall be given credit for teaching experience as provided in this section, whichever is greater.
2. Up to two (2) years will be allowed for honorably completed military active duty.
3. Up to two (2) years will be allowed for satisfactorily completed Peace Corps or VISTA service.
4. The salaries shall be adjusted each semester for college credit verified by official transcript no later than thirty (30) days after the beginning of such semester.
Salary Schedule Placement a. Licensed teachers entering the employment of USD 358 may be given full credit for past teaching experience at the option of the board not to exceed the maximum salary for the appropriate education column. The board shall also have the right to allow less than the actual number of years of service experience for any licensed teacher. Determination of the years of experience allowed for salary schedule placement shall be made at the time of employment.
Salary Schedule Placement. The BA Step 0 for the 2019-2020 salary shall be $44,730. The BA Step 0 for the 2020- 2021 salary shall be $45,289.
A. New hires that do not have the necessary District forms completed as required and returned to Human Resources shall not begin employment under a regular teaching contract.
B. New hires without the required paperwork will be hired as a contract substitute at the contract substitute rate of pay provided they supply a direct deposit form, all federal, state and retirement deduction forms, and the background check is completed.
C. When the new hire has submitted the necessary paperwork to Human Resources, the teacher salary will be reinstated and prorated back to the first day of employment
