Insurance While on Unpaid Leave. Whenever an eligible teacher is on a Board approved unpaid leave of absence, the eligible teacher shall have the right to retain participation in any of the insurance benefit programs. Eligible teachers who choose to do so shall pay the premium amount for such insurance coverage by cash or check to the Board Treasurer or designee no later than the 23rd day of the month prior to the month that coverage is to be extended during the unpaid leave.
