Benefits While on Leave. An employee will continue to receive her/his salary and benefits while on paid leave under this Article. An employee on unpaid leave may arrange to pay the costs required to maintain benefit coverage in accordance with the local provisions of the collective agreement.
Benefits While on Leave. The State will continue to pay the Employer’s contribution to the Union Benefits Trust as well as the Employer’s share of health insurance premiums for an employee on unpaid FMLA leave granted pursuant to Article 26.10 provided the employee continues to contribute his/her share of the premium. Employees granted a non-FMLA leave of absence without pay for a period longer than thirty (30) days and who desire to continue their health and life insurance coverage must pay the total premium (employee and Employer share). The State will continue to pay for dental and vision coverage as long as the employee continues paying the total health insurance premium. Employees on Family Medical Leave under the “FMLA” shall receive health insurance in accordance with the Act.
Benefits While on Leave. A nurse will not lose previously accrued benefits as provided in this Agreement but will not accrue additional benefits during the term of a properly authorized leave of absence.

A nurse’s anniversary date for purposes of wage increases and vacation accrual rates shall not be changed because of being on a leave for 30 days or less.
Benefits While on Leave. Should an employee be on unpaid leave for less than thirty (30) calendar days all provided benefits shall be extended through the leave period. Should the leave extend beyond thirty (30) calendar days, all benefits shall be terminated on the first day of unpaid leave unless the employee pays the cost of the particular insurance when the company allows individual contribution. Should a leave originally requested to be less than thirty (30) days extend beyond thirty (30) calendar days, the employee shall be responsible for the cost of all fringe benefits provided through the first thirty (30) days.
Benefits While on Leave. Unless otherwise stated in this Article or otherwise required by law, seniority shall not accrue for an employee who is on an approved non-pay leave status (excluding disciplinary suspensions of less than 30 days). Accumulated seniority shall remain in place during that leave and shall begin to accrue again when the employee returns to work on a pay status. Upon the employee’s return, the City will place the employee in the employee’s previous job if the job is vacant; if the job is not vacant, the employee will be placed in the first available opening in the employee’s classification or in a lower rated classification according to the employee’s seniority, where skill and ability to perform the work without additional training is equal. If, upon expiration of the leave of absence, there is no work available for the employee or if the employee would have been laid off according to the employee’s seniority except for the employee’s leave, the employee shall go directly on layoff. During the approved leave of absence or layoff under this Agreement, the employee shall be entitled to continuation or conversion coverage under applicable group medical (pursuant to COBRA) and life insurance plans to the extent provided in such plans, provided the employee makes arrangements for the change and arrangements to pay the entire insurance premiums involved, and any additional surcharges as allowed by law, including the amount of premium previously paid by the City.
Benefits While on Leave. Teachers placed on unrequested leave of absence shall remain eligible for participation in the school district’s group insurance programs at their own expense for the duration of their reinstatement period.
Benefits While on Leave. An employee will continue to receive her/his salary and benefits while on paid leave under this Article. An employee may elect to maintain any or all of the health and welfare benefits, for which he or she is eligible, subject to the conditions prescribed by the carrier, in accordance with Article 39 and subject to the approval of the BC Pension Corporation, pension contributions in accordance with Article 40, paying the total cost of the premiums and contributions for the selected plans.

Time elapsed while on leave of absence without pay 42 shall not be counted toward seniority for promotion, compensation, sick leave, or 43 vacation privileges, except an employee absent on leave for study or government 44 service shall include such time toward qualifying for advancement to the next higher 45 step in the salary range in accordance with this Agreement, and an employee absent 1 on military leave shall be accorded all the rights and privileges granted by the
Benefits While on Leave. (a) Members who are on leave with pay shall be entitled to continue to participate in these benefit plans on the same basis as members who are not on leave. The Employer and the member shall each continue to pay their respective shares of benefit premiums.
