ITA. The research intends to provide for people involved in mitigation programmes of the earthquake effects some basic information that will enable them both to know the nature and genesis of "fabrics" in some parts of the city - that is of the "solid" areas - the buildings-, and the "void" ones - streets, yards and unbuilt spaces-, and the risks related to each specific fabric. The way the "solid" and the "void" lots are structured is the result of a long process generating the various parts of the city. Regardless of the value of the architectural artefacts, the "fabric" of certain neighbourhoods is therefore a highly accurate document on the history of the city. The fact that in the old town centre of Naples all kinds of solid/void relationships that characterized at various times all European cities can be found, makes its "urban pattern" an element of the city cultural heritage. A "minor" heritage, but equally important. On the other hand, each fabric has morphological and construction characteristics able to amplify one or more of the risks that are found in urban areas in crowded conditions. Knowing the origin, the potentiality and the dangers of various fabrics may help to diminish the risk, contributing to a safer staying of strangers in the city and a more effective work of the volunteers. Of course, this text does not purport to be exhaustive or to replace specialized studies. It is just a cognitive support designed to give the Civil Defence volunteers a simple but exact analysis tool, allowing them to learn, and recognize a widespread and also little-known (however rarely shown) aspect of the cultural heritage of the city and to focus preventive action on the characteristics of the area that will be assigned to them. The research shows that the parts of the city characterized by community fabric (Greek-Roman core, Cavone, Vergini, Orefici, Pizzofalcone and Pallonetto S. Lucia), and the Quartieri Xxxxxxxx are the most dangerous areas, both for the specific characteristics of the fabric and because the presence of many monuments does provide for a higher density of people present in the streets. To reduce risks and lessen the impact of emergencies, it may prove useful to:

  • Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act A. To the extent the Reinsurer is subject to the deduction and withholding of premium payable hereon as set forth in the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (Sections 1471-1474 of the Internal Revenue Code), the Reinsurer shall pay or allow such deduction and withholding from the premium payable under this Contract. B. In the event of any return of premium becoming due hereunder, the Reinsurer shall not deduct any percentage from the return premium payable hereon. To the extent the Company or its agent recovers such premium deductions and withholdings on the return premium from the United States Government, the Company or its agent shall reimburse the Reinsurer for such amounts. C. Prior to any payment to be made under this Contract, the Reinsurer shall provide to the Company (or the applicable withholding agent, as defined in Treasury Regulation Section 1.1471-1(b)(147)) a valid Internal Revenue Service ("IRS") Form W-8BEN-E or other documentation establishing they are not subject to any withholding requirement pursuant to the FATCA. D. The Reinsurer shall update the forms or other documentation referenced in paragraph C of this Article upon a change in facts or circumstance rendering such previously supplied information incorrect. If the Reinsurer has not provided the Company with updated documentation attesting to its FATCA compliance within thirty (30) days prior to any premium due date, or becomes non-compliant with FATCA at any later date, the withholding agent (as defined in Treasury Regulation Section 1.1471-1(b)(147) shall be entitled to withhold thirty percent (30.0%) of any premium payment to the Reinsurer under this contract and shall promptly notify the Reinsurer of such withholding.

  • Foreign Tax Compliance Except as otherwise disclosed in the Disclosure Package and the Prospectus, no transaction, stamp, capital or other issuance, registration, transaction, transfer or withholding taxes or duties are payable in China, Hong Kong or Cayman Islands to any PRC, Hong Kong or Cayman Islands taxing authority in connection with the issuance, sale and delivery of the Offered Securities, and the delivery of the Offered Securities to or for the account of the Underwriters.

  • LEAVE FOR REGULATORY BUSINESS AS PER THE TEACHERS’ ACT 1. Upon written request to the Superintendent or designate from the Ministry of Education, an employee who is appointed or elected to the BC Teachers’ Council or appointed to the Disciplinary or Professional Conduct Board shall be entitled to a leave of absence with pay and shall be deemed to be in the full employ of the board as defined in Article G.6.1. 2. Upon written request to the superintendent or designate from the Ministry of Education, a teacher teaching on call (TTOC) who is appointed or elected to the BC Teachers’ Council or appointed to the Disciplinary and Professional Conduct Board shall be considered on leave and shall be deemed to be in the full employ of the Board as defined in Article A.10.1 above. TTOCs shall be paid in accordance with the collective agreement. 3. Leave pursuant to Article A.10.1 and A.10.2 above shall not count toward any limits on the number of days and/or teachers on leave in the provisions in Article G.6.

  • National and Most-favoured-nation Treatment 1. Each Contracting Party shall in its territory accord to investments and returns of investors of the other Contracting Party treatment which is fair and equitable and not less favourable than that which it accords to investments and returns of its own investors or to investments and returns of investors of any third state whichever is more favourable. 2. Each Contracting Party shall in its territory accord to investors of the other Contracting Party, as regards management, maintenance, use, enjoyment or disposal of their investment, treatment which is fair and equitable and not less favourable than that which it accords to its own investors or of any third State, whichever is more favourable. 3. The provisions of paragraph 1 and 2 of this Article shall not be construed so as to oblige one Contracting Party to extend to the investors of the other the benefit of any treatment, preference or privilege which may be extended by the former Contracting Party by virtue of: a. Any customs union or free trade area or a monetary union or similar international agreements leading to such unions or institutions or other forms of regional co-operation to which either of the Contracting Party is or may become a Party; b. Any international agreement or arrangement relating wholly or mainly to taxation.

  • Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) The Issuer agrees (i) upon the request of the Trustee, to provide the Trustee with such reasonable information as it has in its possession to enable the Trustee to determine whether any payments pursuant to this Indenture are subject to the withholding requirements described in Section 1471(b) of the Code or otherwise imposed pursuant to Sections 1471 through 1474 of the Code and any regulations, or agreements thereunder or official interpretations thereof (“Applicable Law”), and (ii) that the Trustee shall be entitled to make any withholding or deduction from payments under the Indenture to the extent necessary to comply with Applicable Law, for which the Trustee shall not have any liability.

  • the U.S.-China income tax treaty allows an exemption from tax for scholarship income received by a Chinese student temporarily present in the United States. Under U.S. law, this student will become a resident alien for tax purposes if his or her stay in the United States exceeds 5 calendar years. However, paragraph 2 of the first Protocol to the U.S.-China treaty (dated April 30, 1984) allows the provisions of Article 20 to continue to apply even after the Chinese student becomes a resident alien of the United States. A Chinese student who qualifies for this exception (under paragraph 2 of the first protocol) and is relying on this exception to claim an exemption from tax on his or her scholarship or fellowship income would attach to Form 1. You do not furnish your TIN to the requester, 2. You do not certify your TIN when required (see the instructions for Part II for details), 3. The IRS tells the requester that you furnished an incorrect TIN, 4. The IRS tells you that you are subject to backup withholding because you did not report all your interest and dividends on your tax return (for reportable interest and dividends only), or 5. You do not certify to the requester that you are not subject to backup withholding under 4 above (for reportable interest and dividend accounts opened after 1983 only). Certain payees and payments are exempt from backup withholding. See Exempt payee code, later, and the separate Instructions for the Requester of Form W-9 for more information. Also see Special rules for partnerships, earlier. The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) requires a participating foreign financial institution to report all United States account holders that are specified United States persons. Certain payees are exempt from FATCA reporting. See Exemption from FATCA reporting code, later, and the Instructions for the Requester of Form W-9 for more information.

  • Most-favoured-nation Treatment 1. Each Party shall accord to investors of the other Party treatment no less favourable than that it accords, in like circumstances, to investors of any third State with respect to the establishment, acquisition, expansion, management, conduct, operation, and sale or other disposition of investments in its territory. 2. Each Party shall accord to investments of investors of the other Party treatment no less favourable than that it accords, in like circumstances, to investments in its territory of investors of any third State with respect to the establishment, acquisition, expansion, management, conduct, operation, and sale or other disposition of investments (13). 3. Notwithstanding paragraphs 1 and 2, the Parties reserve the right to adopt or maintain any measure that accords differential treatment: (a) to socially or economically disadvantaged minorities and ethnic groups (14); or (b) involving cultural industries related to the production of books, magazines, periodical publications, or printed or electronic newspapers and music scores. 4. The treatment and protection as mentioned in paragraphs 1 to 2 of this Article shall not include any preferential treament accorded by the other Party to investments of investors of any third State based on free trade agreement, free trade zone, custom union, economic union, or agreement relating to avoidance of double taxation or for facilitating frontier trade.

  • Authority, Etc The execution and delivery by Borrower of this Amendment and the performance by Borrower of all of its agreements and obligations under the Loan Agreement and the other Loan Documents, as amended hereby, are within the corporate authority of Borrower and have been duly authorized by all necessary corporate action on the part of Borrower. With respect to Borrower, the execution and delivery by Borrower of this Amendment does not and will not require any registration with, consent or approval of, or notice to any Person (including any governmental authority).
