Common use of Job Selection Disputes Clause in Contracts

Job Selection Disputes. (a) An unsuccessful employee applicant may request an explanation from the Director of Personnel and Labour Relations by telephone of the reasons why he/she was unsuccessful, and receive an oral explanation. (b) If a candidate wishes the reasons in writing, he/she must request them in writing within five (5) working days of the date he/she received notification of the decision. (c) The Director of Personnel and Labour Relations will reply to the employee within five (5) working days from receipt of the request. (d) Where an employee feels he/she has been aggrieved by the job selection decision of the Employer, the employee may file a grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure as set out in Article 20 of this Agreement; such a grievance shall be initiated in writing at the third step of the grievance procedure within seven (7) working days after the date of mailing of the Personnel and Labour Relations Director's reply.
