Joint Members of Academic Units. 13.9.1 A joint appointment reflects the active and substantial involvement of an employee in the academic activities in more than one unit. An employee with an academic appointment in one academic unit may be given a joint appointment in another academic unit. The academic unit in which the permanent appointment is held is referred to as the primary unit and the academic unit in which the joint appointment is held is referred to as the secondary unit. A primary characteristic of a joint appointment is the assignment of duties by both the primary and secondary units. Examples of the purposes for which joint appointments are suitable are:

  • Unit Members Whenever used in this Agreement, the term “Employee” shall mean all classroom teachers (pre- K-12), counselors, librarians (and/or their successor job title and/or classification), psychologists, social workers, home and hospital teachers, department heads, master teachers, academic coaches, instructional associates, instructional support teachers, educational associates, speech/language speech-language pathologists, audiologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, facilitators, consulting teachers, IEP Team Associates, pupil personnel worker, teacher – mentor, teacher – staff developer, and art, music and physical education resource teachers.

  • Unit Member Any employee of the Board of Education who is a member of the unit, including substitutes and home and hospital teachers.

  • Interest of Members of a City No member of the governing body of the City and no other officer, employee, or agent of the City who exercises any functions or responsibilities in connection with the planning and carrying out of the program, shall have any personal financial interest, direct or indirect, in this Contract, and the Contractor shall take appropriate steps to assure compliance.

  • Professional Memberships Each employee is eligible for reimbursement for membership fees or dues paid for the maintenance of a license required to perform employee’s job and for dues paid for membership in one additional job related professional association.
