Joint Occupational Health & Safety. 18.01 The Employer and the Union shall endeavour to provide a safe and healthy environment or employees through their Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee. 18.02 The Employer shall provide occupational health and safety education and training to its employees to ensure that they are aware of and engage in safe work practices to minimize the risk of occupational injury and illness. The City of Ottawa Health and Safety Committee, which includes union representation, shall review the training and education programs on an ongoing basis. 18.03 The Employer and the Union will ensure that terms of reference are established for the Occupational Health and Safety Committee with bargaining unit member participation. 18.04 Training for Occupational Health and Safety Committee members, mandated by the Terms of Reference, shall be delivered jointly where possible.
