Common use of Jury or Witness Duty Clause in Contracts

Jury or Witness Duty. a) Wage Compensation Any regular full time employee who is required to report for Jury Selection, Jury Duty, Coroner’s Inquest or who is subpoenaed to serve as a witness in a court action, save and except actions involving the Company or Trade Unions, unless subpoenaed by the Crown, on a day when they would normally have worked, will be reimbursed by the Company for the difference between the pay received in such duty and their regular straight time hourly rate of pay for their regularly scheduled hours of work necessarily lost. It is understood that employees will be reimbursed by the Company for the difference between the pay received for such duty and their straight time rate of pay for their regularly scheduled hours of work in that week. The employee will be required to furnish proof of performing such service and such duty pay received.
