Common use of Labor Convention Clause in Contracts

Labor Convention. Subject to the prior approval of the Employer, time off without pay shall be granted without discrimination or loss of seniority rights to one (1) employee designated by the Union to attend a labor convention, provided, however, one (1) week written notice is given to the Employer by the Union, specifying the purpose of the time off and the length of time off desired.
