Union Conventions. Leave of Absence without pay and without loss of seniority shall be granted upon request to the Employer, to employees elected or appointed to represent the Union at Union Conventions or seminars. The total of such time off for all causes and for all employees in this unit combined shall not exceed fifteen (15) working days in any calendar year.
Union Conventions. The chapter chairperson or his/her representative elected to attend a function of the International Union such as convention, or educational conferences, upon proper application, shall be allowed a total of five (5) days per year time off without loss of time or pay to attend such conference and/or conventions.
Union Conventions. Leave of absence up to a maximum of twenty (20) working days, per delegate, without pay and without loss of seniority shall be granted upon request in writing to the Employer, to employees elected or appointed to represent the Union at Union conventions, and a reply in writing will be given within three (3) calendar days after such request has been made.
Union Conventions. Leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority shall be granted upon request by the TPA to employees elected or appointed to represent the Union at Union conventions or seminars. Such time shall not exceed a total of five (5) man days per calendar year.
Union Conventions. Leave of absence without pay will be granted, subject to operational requirements, by the Authority to not more than two (2) employees at a time to attend Union conventions or seminars. The granting of such leave shall be conditional upon the Authority receiving a minimum of fifteen (15) working days notice. Such leave(s) shall be limited to a total of fifteen (15) working days every two (2) calendar years, but no more than ten (10) working days be taken in any one year, and nor shall more than one (1) employee be absent at the same time from the same department or area.
Union Conventions. Subject to the approval of the supervisor(s) concerned, and upon written request submitted at least twenty (20) working days in advance, leave of absence without pay shall be granted to not more than two (2) employees at any one time, who may be elected or selected by the Union to attend any authorized labour convention. Such leave of absence is to be confined to the actual duration of the convention and the necessary travelling time. Such leave shall not exceed ten (10) working days per year for each employee to whom such leave is granted.
Union Conventions. In any one calendar year leave of absence with pay for the number of days equivalent to the unexpended balance of time available to stewards for Union duties as provided in Article 7.04 (3), and accumulated during the previous calendar year, shall be granted to the Union for employees elected or appointed to represent the Union at conventions or seminars. No more than three (3) employees may be absent at one time and the Union shall request leave thirty (30) days prior to the date of commencing such leave.
Union Conventions. Leave with pay and without loss of seniority may be granted upon request from the Union to the Employer, to Employees who are duly elected or appointed delegates to attend the annual conventions of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, the Ontario Division of the Canadian Union of Public Employees, the Ontario Federation of Labour or the Canadian Labour Congress. Such time shall not exceed a total of twenty (20) person days in any one (1) calendar year; however, any unused portion may be carried over to a second year only. The Union will give at least ten (10) working days written notice of such request to the Employer.
Union Conventions. Duly-elected Union delegates shall be granted time off without pay for one (1) week to attend such convention. Vacation or compensatory time may be used for this purpose. The Union shall give at least ten (10) working days’ advance notice of the employees who will be participating in such conventions.
Union Conventions. Leave of absence for a maximum of five (5) employees without pay and without loss of seniority shall be granted upon request to the City employees elected or appointed to represent the Union at conventions or seminars, provided that all five (5) employees are not from the same department, and subject to operational requirements, such approval not to be unreasonably withheld. The Union agrees to provide, wherever reasonably possible, at least two (2) weeks advanced notice, of the dates of such leave, to the Human Resources Manager. The Union shall reimburse the City for those hours the employee is absent.
