LABORATORY PROCEDURES FOR THE ANALYSES OF GROUNDWATER AND SURFACE WATERS. COUNTY hereby engages CONTRACTOR to examine and perform chemical analyses of groundwater, surface water, and soil samples supplied by COUNTY. CONTRACTOR shall perform all analyses of groundwater, surface water, and soil samples according to published methods presented in the following documents: 1. Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater (APHA, AWWA, WPCF), latest edition. 2. EPA-600/4-79-020 Methods for Chemical Analysis of Water and Wastes, Revised March 1983, latest revision. 3. EPA-600/4-82-057 Methods for Organic Chemical Analysis of Municipal and Industrial Wastewater, July 1982, latest revision. 4. Other procedures established as EPA protocol and published in the Federal Register. 5. Techniques of Water Resources Investigations of the United States Geological Survey, Laboratory Theory and Methods for Sediment Analysis, most current update. 6. EPA SW-846, Test Methods for Evaluating Solid Waste, latest edition. Variation from procedures detailed in the above publications by the CONTRACTOR must be approved by the COUNTY. The following methods, described in the above-noted publications, shall be used for the analyses indicated unless otherwise authorized by COUNTY.
