Common use of Laid Off Employee Benefits Clause in Contracts

Laid Off Employee Benefits. (a) The right of employees with status on Seniority List 1 to medical benefits under this agreement shall continue for a period of six (6) months. In the event of a longer layoff, employees affected shall have the right to continue coverage by making direct payments for a further period of one (1) year. (b) Employees with status on Seniority List 2 who are bumped or whose term has been shortened will not have their medical benefits continued for six (6) months but shall have the right to bump.
