Training Benefits. In the event that the Employer should introduce new methods or machines which require new or greater skills than are possessed by employees under the present method of operation, such employees shall, at the expense of the Employer, be given a reasonable period of time, in the opinion of the Employer, during which they may perfect or acquire the skills necessitated by the new method of operation. There shall be no change in wage or salary rates during the training period of any such employee.
Training Benefits. Where new or greater skills are required than those already possessed by affected employees, where feasible such employees shall, at the expense of the Board, be given a reasonable period of time, during which they may perfect or acquire the skills necessitated by the technological change. There shall be no reduction in salary or benefits during the training period and no reduction in pay upon being reclassified in the new position.
Training Benefits. (a) In the event that the Employer should introduce new methods or machines which require new or greater skills than are possessed by employees under the present method of operation, such employees shall, subject to the employee's ability and qualifications to perform the remaining work, at the expense of the Employer, be given a period of time not to exceed three (3) months, during which they may perfect or acquire the skills necessitated by the new method of operation. There shall be no reduction in wage or salary rates during the training period of any such employee and no reduction in pay upon being reclassified in the new position.
(b) Should the introduction of new methods of operation create a need for the perfection or acquisition of skills requiring a training period longer than three (3) months, the additional training time shall be a subject for discussion between the Employer and the Union.
Training Benefits. The Employer will retrain, relocate and assist any employee who may be displaced as a result of technological change. Such employees shall be given a reasonable period of time during which they may perfect or acquire the skills necessitated by the method of operations. There shall be no reduction in wages during the training period of such employees.
Training Benefits. (a) In the event that the College should introduce new methods or machines which require new or greater skills than are possessed by employees under the present method of operation, such employees shall, at the expense of the College, be given a period of time agreed upon by the College and the Union to perfect or acquire the skills necessitated by the new method of operation.
(b) The expense of the College means:
(i) a time that is mutually convenient to the College and the employee;
(ii) overtime, if time is not available during regular working hours.
Training Benefits. In the event that the Employer should introduce new methods which require new or greater skills than are possessed by the Employees under present methods of operation, such Employees shall at the expense of the Employer, be given a period of time not to exceed one
(1) year, during which they may undergo retraining/orientation in order to acquire the skills necessitated by the new method of operation. There shall be no reduction in an Employee’s rate of pay during the training period and no reduction of pay upon being reclassified in the new position.
Training Benefits. Where new or greater skills are required by an employee to carry out their work in the district as a result of technological change than are already possessed by the employee, such employees shall at the expense of the Board be given a period of time not to exceed ninety (90) days in which they may perfect or acquire the skills necessitated by the new method of operation. There shall be no reduction in wage or salary rate during the training period of any such employee and no reduction in pay upon being reclassified in the new position.
Training Benefits. Where new or greater skills are required than are already possessed by affected employees under the present methods of operation, such employees shall, at the expense of the Employer, be trained and given a one year period of time in which to perfect or acquire the skills necessitated by the new method of operation. This training shall be given during the hours of work whenever possible.
Training Benefits. In the event that the Employer should introduce new methods or machines which require new or greater skills than those possessed by employees who are employed in the operation being changed, and where such employees would otherwise be laid off, then training shall be provided for employees affected who are able to complete the required training within a reasonable period of time determined by the Employer. Where leave is required, leave for such training shall be with pay, less any other allowances provided for such training by Government or other programs.
(a) Where an affected employee elects not to avail of training as provided for under Clause 41.03, the Employer agrees that, where possible, the effect on the employee will be minimized by transfer or re-assignment within the employ of the Employer.
(b) An employee transferred or re-assigned in accordance with (a) above will not suffer any reduction in his/her regular salary, unless such employee has refused, without giving reasons acceptable to the Employer, to avail of training provided in accordance with Clause 41.03.
Training Benefits. The training period shall not exceed two (2) months at the expense of the Employer. There shall be no reduction in wage or salary rates during the training period of any such Employee. The two (2) month period referred to above may be extended by mutual agreement.
