Lamps. 2.5.1. Driving-beam (main-beam) headlamp" means the lamp used to illuminate the road over a long distance ahead of the vehicle. 2.5.2. Passing-beam (dipped-beam) headlamp" means the lamp used to illuminate the road ahead of the vehicle without causing undue dazzle or discomfort to oncoming drivers and other road-users.
