Leave for Union and Other Purposes. An employee who is elected to a full-time position with the Canadian Union of Public Employees or any trade-union body with which the Union is affiliated, or who is elected to public office, shall, if he so requests in writing, be granted leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority for a period not exceeding one year. Such leave may be renewed by mutual agreement between the parties.
