Employer Shall Acquaint New Employees. The Employer shall acquaint new employees with the fact that a collective agreement is in effect. New employees shall be presented with an electronic copy of the Agreement.

The dues check-off card is to be signed by the employee and returned to the Employer immediately.

The Employer shall present each new employee with a letter of introduction, which would include the names of the Union executive and shop stewards and the department in which they work. A Union representative may participate in the monthly City orientation session in order to acquaint new employees with the policies and procedures of the Union.
Employer Shall Acquaint New Employees. The Union will supply new employees in the Bargaining Unit, including relief and part time employees, with a copy of this agreement. The Employer will include a representative, and allowfor a brief presentation, in the Employee Orientation sessions.

The Employer will introduce new Employees to an executive member of the Local during the new Employee’s orientation.
7.2 As part of the new Employee’s orientation, an Executive Member of the Local Union shall be given an opportunity to meet each new Employee during regular working hours, without loss of pay and/or benefits.
7.3 A probationary Employee may be dismissed during the Probationary period without the Employer having to prove just cause. In such cases, the probationary Employee may access the grievance and arbitration procedure, but arbitral review shall be restricted to whether the Employer has complied with Article 5 (No Discrimination) of this Agreement.

The Employer agrees to supply new employees with a copy of this Agreement and to draw their attention to the conditions of employment set out in the Articles dealing with Union Security and Dues Checkoff. The Employer will supply the Union with xxxxx- xx copies of the Collective Agreement as required.

7.02 The Employer will ensure the current Collective Agreement is available on the Intranet site.
