LEAVES OF ABSENCE - CONTINUATION OF PREMIUMS. Upon the written request of an employee on leave of absence, the City will continue the employee's coverage under the Group Life, and Health Insurance plans, and the City will pay its share of the premiums for such plans in accordance with the provisions of Sections 42.1 and 42.2 of this Article for a maximum of thirty (30) days. On the first day of the month following the commencement of the employee's leave of absence, the employee will then and thereafter be solely responsible for the payment of all subsequent such premiums. Where a conflict may exist between the provisions of this section and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the FMLA shall prevail.
