Trauma Leave. 1. An employee who suffers medically diagnosable psychological or emotional trauma resulting in the course of the employee’s employment that precludes the employee from working may be granted trauma leave. 2. An employee who is unable to work because of a psychological/emotional disability resulting from trauma received in the course of employment, or in the discharge of other official assigned duties for the District, shall be maintained in full pay status, on trauma leave, for the period of time set forth in paragraph 3 herein. Trauma leave granted under these conditions shall not be charged against sick leave, earned or unearned. A certificate from a licensed counselor or physician stating the nature of the disability and its anticipated duration should accompany a trauma leave form furnished by the District, unless the leave extends beyond two
Trauma Leave. Applicability: This section is applicable to full-time regular employees of the classified service. If a full-time regular employee in the classified service, while acting in his official capacity, is involved in an incident resulting in death or permanent disfigurement or disability to a person, or witnesses the death or permanent disfigurement or disability of a fellow employee, or witnesses the death of a person due to the application of a deadly force by another, that employee shall receive trauma leave upon request of the employee to relieve the stress which has resulted from such incident. The duration of such trauma leave shall be approved by the appointing authority, however, under no circumstances shall such trauma leave exceed thirty (30) days. While on such trauma leave, the employee shall receive his normal rate of pay for such days, and they shall not be charged to his sick leave or any other accumulated but unused leave time. Prior to his return to work, the City shall require the employee to take an examination, conducted by a physician, to determine if the effect of the trauma is relieved to the extent that the employee is both physically and mentally capable to perform the essential duties of the job. If determined incapably of doing so as a result of such examination, the employee may be placed on paid leave of absence, unpaid leave of absence, or disability separation. The cost of such examination shall be paid by the City.
Trauma LeaveAny time any Police Officer, while acting in an official capacity, has to administer deadly force resulting in death or permanent disfigurement or disability to a person, or witnesses the death or permanent disfigurement or disability of a fellow Officer by the use of deadly force, or witnesses the death of another due to the application of deadly force by an Officer, the Officer shall receive the necessary time off to relieve the stress which has resulted from said incident. The duration of the time off shall meet with the approval of the Chief of Police. The Officer shall continue to receive his normal rate of pay for these days and they shall not be charged against his sick time. Prior to his return to work, the Officer shall undergo an examination, at City expense, by a physician chosen by the City to determine said Officer's capability to return to duty. Such paid trauma leave shall not exceed thirty (30) days. Any additional leave needed by the Officer, and certified as necessary by the City's physician, may be taken using accumulated leave, or may be treated as a disability leave should these other alternatives be exhausted.

Trauma Leave. 1. Trauma leave granted under these conditions shall not be charged against sick leave, earned or unearned. A certificate from a licensed counselor or physician stating the nature of the disability and its anticipated duration should accompany a trauma leave form furnished by the District, unless the leave extends beyond two (2) weeks, in which case the certificate must be from a licensed physician. Any trauma leave extending to five (5) days or longer shall be subject to review by a District-appointed physician, including a physical or psychiatric examination at the physician’s direction to justify the use of trauma leave. Falsification of either a signed statement or a counselor or physician’s certificate will be grounds for suspension or termination of employment. 3. An employee shall be granted a trauma leave of up to two (2) weeks in a school year, which may be taken consecutively or intermittently.
Trauma Leave. 38.1 Where an employee is in charge of a train that is involved in a serious accident or incident or during the course of his/her work witnesses a serious accident or incident that results in a serious injury or fatality to another employee or other person, Aurizon shall ensure that the employee is relieved from duty as soon as possible. 38.2 In these circumstances the employee will be provided with transport to the employee’s home or home depot, as elected by the employee. 38.3 Where the incident involves a fatality, the employee will be provided with up to three days paid leave to receive psychological counselling from a qualified practitioner. 38.4 Trauma leave is a separate entitlement to any other leave.
Trauma Leave. (a) Where an employee experiences a traumatic incident, they will be entitled to five days’ paid leave as per their roster inclusive of any agreed overtime subject to the requirements in this clause. (b) The entitlement to paid leave will only apply where: (i) The employee has sought counselling through Employee Assistance Programme and provides evidence of this to V/Line; or (ii) The employee has sought counselling through a registered health practitioner of their choice and provides evidence of this to V/Line. (c) ‘traumatic incident’ is defined as any of the following: (i) an incident resulting in the employee witnessing the death or near death of a person; (ii) the employee being involved in a serious collision involving rolling stock; or (iii) the employee is involved in a physical assault or a serious incident requiring emergency services involvement.
Trauma Leave. 31.7.1 An Employee who is involved in an accident or similar traumatic event which of its nature causes the Employee concerned significant distress or trauma shall be entitled to up to three (3) days of paid leave. This leave is not counted as personal/carer’s leave, is not cumulative, and is available on a per-event basis only, subject to the following: (a) The Employee must attend an appointment with a medical practitioner (such as a psychologist) as directed by the Company; (b) The Company shall nominate and pay for the practitioner to whom the Employee must attend; (c) The Employee must provide the Company with such evidence as is required to establish that they have complied with the requirement to attend in Subclause 31.7.1; and (d) The practitioner must provide the Company with a report outlining the estimated duration of absence due to Trauma Leave circumstances.
Trauma Leave. 4.16.1 When an Employee is involved in a serious collision involving his or her rail vehicle, the Employee will be provided with up to five (5) days paid leave, including any additional shift rostered within the forty-eight (48) hour notice period, provided he or she has provided a medical certificate and/or has lodged a WorkCover claim, or has otherwise advised the Company. 4.16.2 Post-traumatic stress counselling is available for all Employees. Attendance will be optional, but is recommended. If the Employee decides not to attend, the Group Depot Manager must still authorise the paid leave, as per clause 4.16.1 above. 4.16.3 During the first five (5) days the Employee will be expected, if medically fit, to attend any meetings including the loss assessor interview, in hours that are mutually agreeable. 4.16.4 During any period of Trauma Leave, the Employee is to be paid what he or she would have received for the normal rostered shift, including shift, weekend and Public Holiday penalty payments and allowances for the first five (5) days not including the day of the accident.
Trauma Leave. (a) Where an Employee whilst on duty is directly involved in a fatal or serious accident or event defined as a "critical incident'' (eg: fatality or serious accident and Cat A) and the Employee is not physically injured in the accident or event they will be: (i) Relieved as soon as practicable. (ii) Provided with access to the Employee Assistance Program. (iii) Leave will be provided until an arrangement can be made to attend an assessment by the Company nominated Medical counsellor. (iv) The amount of leave then required will be determined by the Company nominated Medical counsellor. (b) Trauma leave will be paid at the Employee's Hourly Rate.
