Additional Education. When a teacher has been employed in District 301 for a minimum of three years, and additional education can be shown to bring about improvement in the teacher’s performance, and a planned program which is recognized by an education accrediting agency is submitted, leave will be considered.
Additional Education. Employees shall be eligible to receive an amount not to exceed $175.00 as reimbursement for cost of college, correspondence or other job-related courses approved by the Board of Control and taken on other than City time and at City expense. This shall be based upon the course taken and successfully passed. Application for such reimbursement shall be submitted, by the employee, to the City Administrator who shall forward the request to the Board of Control for approval or disapproval prior to the beginning of the schooling. The request shall include all relevant data showing the content of the schooling to be taken and its relationship to the employee's job. If approved by the Board of Control, the reimbursement will be made following the employee's submission of documentation to the City Administrator showing that he/she has successfully passed the courses taken.
Additional Education. Two current teachers who do not possess a master’s degree will receive an additional $750 added to their base pay for obtaining a first master’s degree. Teachers hired after July 1, 2011 will not be eligible for Additional Education payment.
Additional Education. Employees shall be eligible to receive an amount not to exceed One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00)/year as reimbursement for costs of college, correspondence or other courses that benefit the City, or such costs of said college, correspondence or other courses that benefit the City not to exceed the same amount may be paid directly to the person or firm conducting same, subject to the express written approval of the Chief of Police, and subject to its being taken on other than City time or at City expense. Application for such costs reimbursements must be submitted by the employee to the City Manager for approval or disapproval prior to the beginning of said schooling. Such application shall include all relevant dates for said schooling, a description of the schooling to be taken, and the relationship of the schooling to the employee's job. If approved, said costs reimbursement will be made following the employee's submission of, both, expense receipts and documentation to the City Manager verifying that the employee has successfully completed and passed the schooling taken. In the event said schooling costs are paid in advance and directly to the person or firm conducting same and the employee should fail to successfully complete and pass said schooling, the City shall be reimbursed by the employee for all such schooling costs. The employee shall be permitted to keep all text books upon successfully completing and passing said schooling.

Employees shall be eligible to receive an amount not to exceed Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00) as reimbursement for cost of seminars, correspondence or other job related courses approved by the City Manager and taken on other than City time and at other than City expense. This shall be based upon the course taken and successfully passed. Application for such reimbursement shall be submitted by the employee to the City Manager for approval or disapproval prior to the beginning of the schooling. The request shall include all relevant dates showing the content of the schooling to be taken and its relationship to the employee's job. If approved, the reimbursement shall be made following the employee's submission of documentation to the City Manager showing that he has successfully passed the courses taken. Reimbursement for college courses shall follow the City’s Employment Policy Manual, that section incorporated by reference into this document and as may be amended from time-to-time.
Additional Education. A faculty member who receives a higher degree while employed by the College will move to the new appropriate level effective in the first pay period of the academic semester following the College's receipt of the official transcripts. To be recognized for salary purposes, a degree must be earned at an institution which is accredited by an accrediting agency which is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the U. S. Department of Education. For a foreign institution, the institution is recognized by CHEA or a government or non-governmental agency which is responsible for quality review of higher education institutions in that country. Official transcripts of academic work completed by the faculty member must be filed in the Human Resources Division Office.
Additional Education. A sum of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150) per semester hour will be paid for the additional education successfully completed toward a degree, proper certification, professional improvement in a teacher’s area, or any course authorized by the Administration. All reimbursement for continuing education must be pre-approved. Continuing education paid by the District must be in the teacher’s highly qualified area (current teaching subject area/certification), an area pre-approved by Administration to achieve a highly qualified certification status in a teaching area as defined by the State of Michigan and No Child Left Behind legislation, or a degree to maintain proper certification at the discretion of the Board beginning with July 1, 2008. Reimbursement under this section is limited to six (6) semester hours per fiscal year per teacher. Reimbursement for classes will be paid after the course work is completed and documentation has been provided to the District office. There is a lifetime maximum tuition

There is a lifetime maximum tuition reimbursement of $3000, beginning with the 06-07 contract.
Additional Education. 5.2.1 Teachers shall receive an increase in salary of $1250 for completion of the following levels of educational advancement: BS+8 and BS+16. Teachers shall receive an increase in salary of $2500 for completion of the following level of educational advancement: MS.
5.2.2 Course hours will be counted, for salary increase as provided above, as of September 1 of the forthcoming year.
Additional Education. A teacher may receive compensation for completing college course work with the purpose of the district providing them assistance to become a better teacher. Completion of the request form and approval by the Superintendent of Schools must be obtained prior to any licensed personnel taking courses, should the licensed personnel wish to advance on the salary schedule and receive the $80. per hour additional for which the district will pay. Approval of classes and forms must be turned into the district office before taking any course. If not, reimbursement will be delayed to the following school year. The licensed personnel must be under contract to teach a full school term in the district after completion of the course(s), must obtain at least a grade of “B” or better, and submit an official transcript to the district office after completion. The district will limit the licensed personnel to nine (9) hours per school year. Payment will be made once each year in the November payroll. Amended (4/12/15) ELL courses, as requested by the Board of Education, will be paid in full until licensure is obtained. This agreement will remain as long as the district receives adequate funding from the state for ELL endorsements.
