LEAVING THE BUS FOR MEALS. Except as noted in this section, during field trips, the bus driver must remain with the bus or at the event.
A. For field trips in the District, a bus may return to the lot and the bus driver may use his/her own car to leave for meals for a maximum of one (1) hour, provided that the trip sponsor and the transportation office are informed, and the Director of Transportation approves. The driver will be paid while away from his/her bus to obtain a meal.
B. For field trips in the Holland area, the bus driver must remain as close as possible to the trip site. The driver may walk or arrange to be picked up to leave for meals for a maximum of one (1) hour, provided that the trip sponsor and the transportation office are informed, and the Director of Transportation approves. The driver will be paid while away from his/her bus to obtain a meal.
C. For field trips outside the Xxxxxxx-Xxxx Ottawa area, the bus driver must remain with the bus or at the event, except the driver may leave for a maximum of one (1) hour to obtain a meal. The driver will advise the trip sponsor of the time he/she will be gone and where he/she can be reached, and obtain permission from the trip sponsor.
D. The bus driver will report back to the bus at least fifteen (15) minutes before the time designated by the trip sponsor.
