Length and Time of Leave. Maximum of three (3) working days, or five (5) working days, if more than 200 miles of travel is required, for death of a member of "immediate family," not necessarily consecutive, within ten (10) calendar days after demise or notification of date of funeral. A three (3) or five (5) day Bereavement Leave shall be granted for each death described above even though more than one death occurs simultaneously; such leaves may be consecutive. A permanent employee may at his/her option interrupt or terminate a vacation period in order to take Bereavement Leave.
