Duration of Leave. An eligible female employee may apply for pregnancy leave, to commence after the 22nd week of pregnancy for a duration of up to 17 weeks. The pregnancy leave of an employee who is not entitled to take parental leave ends on the later of the day that is seventeen weeks after the pregnancy leave began or the day that is six weeks after the birth, still-birth or miscarriage.
Duration of Leave. Maternity leave shall commence six (6) weeks before the anticipated delivery date unless granted earlier than six (6) weeks or deferred. The Employer may require the employee to commence a leave of absence, only at such time as the employee, as a result of pregnancy, cannot reasonably and safely perform her duties. A medical certificate may be required. Maternity leave shall expire not later than eleven (11) weeks after delivery date unless the six (6) weeks she was entitled to before the delivery date were deferred, in which case the number of days not used shall be added to the eleven (11) weeks after the delivery date.
Duration of Leave. An employee shall be granted a leave of absence for the period of disability except that the Employer shall not be required to grant a leave for more than one (1) year.
Duration of Leave. Leave is granted for the time the employee is in attendance at court together with reasonable travel time between court and the employee's work location. If attendance at court is for less than a full day, the employee is to return to work, provided that adequate time exists prior to the end of the employee's regular work shift for the employee to so return.
Duration of Leave. In making a determination concerning the duration of a child care leave, the School District shall not, in any event, be required to:
a) Grant any leave more than twelve (12) months in duration.
b) Permit the employee to return to his or her employment prior to the date designated in the request for child care leave.
Duration of Leave. The leave must start within six (6) years of the date of the first salary deferral. The leave can be as short as three (3) consecutive months if the purpose of the leave is to permit the full-time attendance at a designated educational institution, otherwise the leave must be a minimum of six (6) consecutive months. The leave can be as long as twelve (12) months. During the leave, you may not be employed by the University in any capacity even if that employment is casual and unrelated to your normal duties.
Duration of Leave. Duration of educational leaves should be in direct relationship to the length of the academic term (such as a quarter or semester) but in no case can the leave be longer than the employee’s length of service.
Duration of Leave. Extended leaves of absence may be without salary for a term not exceeding five (5) years in duration.
Duration of Leave. Leaves granted for maternity, paternity and adoption shall not extend beyond one (1) calendar year except when the expiration date would occur after April 15, in which case the leave may be extended until the first duty day for employees of the next school year, unless an earlier return date is approved by the appropriate superintendent. Failure to return to duty upon termination of leave shall be considered grounds for discharge.
Duration of Leave. Employees eligible for parental leave may take this leave beginning not later than 52 weeks of the child being born or coming into care. Unless otherwise mutually agreed females on pregnancy leave wishing to take a parental leave must commence parental leave immediately following the end of the pregnancy leave unless the child has not come into custody, care and control of the parent for the first time. The duration of this leave is up to 35 weeks. Those employees who do not take pregnancy leave and all other new parents can take up to 37 weeks of parental leave. Employees who wish to take this leave must give the Company two weeks’ notice in writing prior to the date the leave would begin and four weeks notice of the date the leave will end if they wish to terminate the leave prior to 35 or 37 weeks following the date the leave commenced. An employee, who takes a pregnancy leave followed by a parental leave as per Item 11.2 and 11.5 may elect to have the total leave extended up to 56 weeks. This constitutes an extension of up to 4 weeks.
