LENGTH OF SERVICE PAY. A. Any member of this Unit shall be eligible for longevity pay based upon the aggregate number of years served as a sworn employee of the Department. Such longevity pay is subject to the following conditions. B. Upon the certification to the City Controller by Department management that a member has completed the prescribed number of aggregate years of service as a sworn member of the Department and that such member’s standard of service is satisfactory, such member shall receive the following compensation in addition to the biweekly salary prescribed for the class pay grade. 1. Upon completion of ten years and until the completion of 15 years of aggregate service, a Unit member shall receive $100 biweekly. 2. Upon completion of 15 years and until the completion of 20 years of aggregate service as a sworn member of the Airports Department, a Unit member shall receive an additional $200 biweekly. 3. Upon completion of 20 years of aggregate service as a sworn member of the Department of Airports, a Unit member shall receive an additional $300 biweekly. Effective December 31, 2023, the length of service pay will be as follows: 1. Upon completion of five years and until the completion of 10 years of aggregate service, a Unit member shall receive $100 biweekly. 2. Upon completion of ten years and until the completion of 15 years of aggregate service, a Unit member shall receive $160 biweekly. 3. Upon completion of 15 years and until the completion of 20 years of aggregate service as a sworn member of the Airports Department, a Unit member shall receive an additional $300 biweekly. 4. Upon completion of 20 years of aggregate service as a sworn member of the Department of Airports, a Unit member shall receive an additional $440 biweekly. C. No other members of the Department employed in any class other than Airport Police Officer shall be eligible to receive longevity pay. D. A longevity bonus pay amount shall be treated as an “Adds to Rate” and shall be pension based.

Any Unit member who is employed as a Port Police Officer II or Port Police Officer III (both pay grades of which are referred to as “Officer” in this Unit Article) shall be eligible for longevity pay based upon the aggregate number of years served as a sworn employee of Port Police Officer II or III at the Department. Such longevity pay is subject to the following conditions.
B. Upon the certification to the City Controller by the Department management that a member has completed the prescribed number of aggregate years of service as a sworn member of at the Department as an Officer and that such member’s standard of service is satisfactory, such member shall receive the following compensation in addition to the regular biweekly salary rate prescribed for the class and pay grade.grade computed as follows:
1. Upon completion of ten years of service and until the completion of 15 years of aggregate service, a Unit member an officer shall receive $100 biweeklyan amount equal to 2.75% above the top step regular pay hourly rate for Port Police Officer II as calculated by Management.
2. Upon completion of 15 years and until the completion of 20 years of aggregate service as a sworn member of the Airports Departmentyears, a Unit member an officer shall receive an additional $200 biweeklyamount equal to 2.75% (on top of the 2.75% bonus earned for ten to 15 years of service) above the top step regular pay hourly rate for Port Police Officer II as calculated by Management.
3. Upon completion of 20 years of aggregate service as a sworn member of the Department of Airports, a Unit member shall receive an additional $300 biweekly. C. Effective December 31, 2023, the length of service pay will be as follows:
1. Upon completion of five years and until the completion of 10 years of aggregate serviceservice as a sworn member of the Harbor Department, Port Police Division, a Unit member shall receive $100 biweekly.
2. Upon completion of ten years and until the completion of 15 years of aggregate serviceservice as a sworn member of the Harbor Department, Port Police Division, a Unit member shall receive $160 biweekly.
3. Upon completion of 15 years and until the completion of 20 years of aggregate service as a sworn member of the Airports Harbor Department, Port Police Division, a Unit member shall receive an additional $300 biweekly.
4. Upon completion of 20 years of aggregate service as a sworn member of the Department of AirportsHarbor Department, Port Police Division, a Unit member shall receive an additional $440 biweekly.
C. No other members of the Department employed in any class other than Airport Police D. An Officer shall be eligible allowed to continue to receive longevity paypay for a period of six months following an initial notice of unsatisfactory service. If during the six-month period the Officer does not achieve a satisfactory standard of service, the Port Warden II or a designee shall certify to the City Controller that the employee’s service has been unsatisfactory, and the payment of longevity pay for the employee will cease until such time as the Port Warden II or their designee again certifies that the employee has achieved a satisfactory standard of service.
D. A longevity bonus E. This additional pay amount shall be is a pensionable sum and is treated as an “Adds to Rate” and shall be pension based”.
