Common use of Lines of Authority Clause in Contracts

Lines of Authority. Contractor shall establish and maintain lines of authority for Contractor’s personnel, and shall provide this definition to the Owner and all other affected parties such as the code inspectors of the Permitting Authority, the sub- contractors, the Architect-Engineer and the Owner's representatives, to provide general direction of the work and progress of the various phases and subcontractors. The Owner and Architect-Engineer may attend meetings between Contractor and its Subcontractors; however, such attendance shall not diminish either the authority or responsibility of Contractor to administer the subcontractors.
