Load. An instructional load hour equivalent is a unit of measure used for the purposes of calculating required time for instruction, service, and accountability. One lecture hour (50 minutes based on Carnegie unit) equals 1.00 instructional clock hour equivalent. Instructional contact may be provided by either Instructional or Service Faculty. Faculty who are reassigned to non- instructional duties will be accountable to perform such duties for at least two clock hours per week for each load hour of reassignment.
