Long Parental Leave (adoption. Where an Employee proposes to take long parental leave in respect of adoption, the Employee will apply in writing to the Employer no later than 10 weeks before the first day of the intended parental leave, stating the first and last days of the period. Where the Employee cannot comply with the above notification requirement because of the day when the placement is expected to start or any other compelling reason, the Employee shall apply for long parental leave as soon as reasonably practicable before the first day of the proposed leave.
