Extended Parental Leave. An Extended Parental Leave (including adoption leave) is granted to a teacher and is for a period not to exceed two (2) years. The duration of the leave shall be subject to consultation between the Board and the teacher and the return date shall normally coincide with the beginning of a term.

Extended Parental Leave. The Board, at its discretion, may grant to an employee who requests in writing, a leave without pay. During the leave, the employee will maintain but not add to his/her total years of continuous experience with this and predecessor Boards. Current benefit plans will be made available to an employee while he/she is on an Extended Parental Leave subject to the employee paying full cost of these benefits.
Extended Parental Leave. An employee is entitled to a leave without salary of a maximum duration of two (2) years to prolong a pregnancy/maternity, adoption, or parental leave, with seniority continuing to accumulate. During this period the Employer agrees to pay all hospital and medical and group life premiums. Extended Parental Leave. An employee may request an extended parental leave of up to two (2) years. Such leave shall be granted by the Employer and shall be considered to include any pregnancy/parental leave granted. The employee agrees to provide at least four (4) weeks written notice of the day on which the leave is to begin. Where an employee is on extended parental leave and elects to continue benefits coverage, all benefits, except Long Term Disability, held by an employee at the commencement of a leave without pay may be continued during such leave by the employee with the employee paying one hundred percent (100%) of the premium costs by pre-authorized debit. Subject to the Layoff and Recall provisions of this Collective Agreement, an employee returning from leave shall return to their previous position/location if it exists, or a comparable position.
Extended Parental Leave. 22.1 The Board shall grant an extension to the parental leave as provided in Article 21 in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in this Article. 22.2 The Member shall provide written notice to the Board at least four (4) weeks prior to the scheduled end of the parental leave indicating the start and end dates of the extended parental leave. 22.3 The extended parental leave shall not exceed one (1) year. 22.4 The Member may retain any insured benefits in which the Member was enrolled immediately prior to the leave by paying the full cost of the premiums in advance, otherwise the benefit coverage will be cancelled. 22.5 A Member who intends to resume employment on the expiration of an extended parental leave of absence under this Article shall so advise the Board and on return to work the Board shall reinstate the Member, subject to Article 45 - Layoff and Recall, to the position the Member most recently held with the Board, if it still exists, or to a comparable position, if it does not. 22.6 A Member who intends to resume employment earlier than the originally scheduled date of return, under this Article, shall advise the Board four (4) weeks prior to the requested date of return.
Extended Parental Leave. A Member may apply for an extended parental leave without pay, up to a maximum of one (1) year. This application shall not be unreasonably denied. Such a request shall be made at least three (3) months prior to the end of the initial period of the parental leave. During the full period of this extended parental leave, or for fifty-two (52) weeks maximum, the Member may continue to participate in the pension plan and other benefit plans for which they are eligible. Member choosing to participate shall pay both the Employee and Employer share of contributions and/or premiums as provided for in this Agreement during any extended parental leave.
