Common use of M/WBE Program Clause in Contracts

M/WBE Program. Local Law No. 129 of 2005 added and Local Law 1 of 2013 amended Section 6-129 to the Administrative Code of the City of New York (hereinafter “Section 6-129”). Section 6-129 creates participation by minority and women-owned business enterprises (MBEs and WBEs) in City procurement. The intent is to address the impact of discrimination on the City’s procurement process, and to promote the public interest in avoiding fraud and favoritism in the procurement process, to increase competition for City business and to lower contract costs. As part of the Owner’s M/WBE Program, the Owner endorses these goals and participation by XXXx and WBEs in the provision of the Work. The following goals and provisions are integral to achieve these goals. The Contractor shall comply with all requirements of the Owner’s M/WBE Program applicable to this Contract.
