In-Service Programs. The parties to this collective agreement recognize the value of in-service education both to the employee and the Employer. A) The Employer reserves the right to identify specific in-service programs deemed compulsory. B) Employees required to attend such programs will be paid at the applicable rate of pay.

In-Service Programs. 34.01 (a) The Parties to this Collective Agreement recognize the value of continuing in-service education for employees in the various professions and that the responsibility for such continuing education lies not only with the Employer but also with the employee. For the purpose of this Article, the term “in- service” includes: orientation, acquisition and maintenance of essential skills, and other programs which may be offered by the Employer.
In-Service Programs. (a) The Parties to this Collective Agreement recognize the value of continuing in-service education for all Employees and that the responsibility for such continuing education lies not only with the individual but also with the Employer. For the purpose of this Article, the term “in-service” includes orientation, acquisition and maintenance of essential skills, and other programs which may be offered by the Employer. (b) The Employer reserves the right to identify specific in-service sessions as being compulsory for Employees and those required to attend such sessions shall be paid at the applicable rate of pay for attendance. The following in-service programs shall be compulsory and shall be provided to Employees on an annual basis: (i) CPR and First Aid (When established by the Employer as a mandatory qualification); (ii) Emergency preparedness including fire, evacuation and disaster procedures; (iii) Proper lifting and prevention of back injuries; (iv) Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS); (v) Prevention and management of staff abuse. (a) Employees who, with the prior approval of the Employer, attend in-service programs which are not identified as compulsory by the Employer shall suffer no loss of regular earnings for attending such programs. (b) Employees required to attend such programs, on days off, shall be paid their regular rate of pay for attendance. 7.03 The Employer may make available other in-service education programs as deemed appropriate for the purpose of maintaining proficiency, including topics on prevention of resident abuse, Protection for Persons in Care legislation and regulations, privacy and client confidentiality.

When required the Employer shall pay for transportation and subsistence in accordance with the Xxxxxx Heights Policy. 7.02 The following in-service programs shall be compulsory and shall be provided to Employees on an annual basis: (a) Emergency preparedness including fire, evacuation and disaster procedures; (b) Occupational health & safety matters and prevention of personal injury including musculoskeletal injury arising from repetitive movements or strains including proper lifting and prevention of back injuries; (c) Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS); and other education programs, as deemed appropriate by the Employer for the purpose of maintaining competency. Specific in-service sessions shall be conducted during the paid working time of each employee (for example- not during paid rest periods) and the sessions shall not interfere with scheduled shift and the staffing for each schedule shift. 7.03 The Employer may make available other in-service education programs as deemed appropriate for the purpose of maintaining proficiency.
In-Service Programs. (a) The Parties to this Agreement recognize the value of continuing in- service education for Employees in auxiliary nursing and that the responsibility for such continuing education lies not only with the individual, but also with the Employer. The term "in-service" includes: orientation, acquisition and maintenance of essential skills and other programs, which may be offered by the Employer. (b) Employees who, with the prior approval of their supervisor, attend an in- service or development program shall not suffer a loss of pay for such attendance. (c) An Employee who is required to attend a training course or seminar, shall be paid at straight time for attendance at such a meeting, or granted time off in lieu. 7.02 The Employer's staff training and development policy governing in-service programs will include mandatory elements, as modified from time-to-time, and may include, but will not be limited to the following: (a) Emergency preparedness [including fire, evacuation and disaster procedures]; (b) CPR (when established by the Employer as a mandatory qualification); (c) occupational health & safety matters injuries arising from repetitive movements or strains; (d) prevention of resident abuse, Protection for Persons in Care legislation and regulations; privacy and client confidentiality; (e) dementia care training, prevention and management of staff abuse; (f) residents' rights and customer service; (g) workplace hazardous materials information systems (WHMIS) training; (h) a certification under the Food Safe or other programs as may be required by the regulatory authority.
In-Service Programs. Any-in-service classes where the Hospital requires an employee to attend, will be compensated for such time at straight time.
In-Service Programs. 1. Within the fiscal limitations imposed by the budget, the District shall provide resources and training to develop and implement District goals, and to xxxxxx instructional improvement and professional growth of all teachers. District in- service opportunities will be a major component in assisting teachers in meeting such new licensure requirements as may be forthcoming. 2. The District shall accept approved clock hours for workshops for advancement on the salary schedule. Twelve (12) clock hours of workshop time shall be equal to one-quarter hour of college credit. 3. Employees who opt not to participate in district sponsored programs during normal contracted time, may substitute other staff development activities related to their professional growth. An employee shall submit an alternative program to his/her supervisor for approval.

In-Service Programs. One (1) in-service credit for each fifteen (15) hours of preparation and/or participation if monetary compensation is not provided by the Board.
In-Service Programs. 1. The Director of Business and Operations may institute an in-service program which shall be offered to employees covered under this Agreement. Attendance for programs offered outside of normal work hours may be voluntary, and employees attending shall be paid at the rate of $12.00 per hour. 2. Mandatory in-service programs will be paid at the employeesregular rate of pay. 3. Public School Works may be completed by employees during regular shift without extra pay; however, employees may complete the same District required courses outside of the regular work day (on or off school grounds) and, upon successful completion, will receive $12.00 per required course. 4. One of the responsibilities of the LMC is to identify in-service opportunities that align with the District’s strategic plan to further the professional development of maintenance employees. In-service training will be scheduled during normal work hours at a time that results in the least disruption to the District’s operations.
In-Service Programs. The Board agrees to cooperate with the Association in arranging in-service courses, workshops, conferences and programs designed to improve the quality of instruction. In-service programs shall be conducted during the in school teacher workday if teacher attendance is required. All such programs conducted after the teacher workday or during the summer shall be voluntary.
