MAINTENANCE OF BACK-UP COLONIES. For a period of at least [**] after the delivery of a particular Knock-Out Mouse requested by Genentech under Section 6.1, Lexicon shall retain a small back-up colony of [**] such Knock-Out Mice [**], for the purpose of replacing mice shipped to Genentech under this Article 6 which die or are otherwise unable to breed during or within [**] after shipment to Genentech hereunder. Thereafter, until the expiration of six (6) months following the submission to the Steering Committee of the data from the last First Pass Phenotypic Analysis to be submitted under this Agreement, Lexicon shall [**], if requested by Genentech. In the event Genentech requests that Lexicon maintain any such colony for a period of more than [**], Genentech shall pay Lexicon a storage and maintenance charge of [**] for such requested line of Knock-Out Mice for each [**] that Lexicon maintains such colony at Genentech's request.
MAINTENANCE OF BACK-UP COLONIES. For a period of [**], Lexicon shall retain a small back-up colony of approximately two cages of such mice (approximately five mice per cage), for breeding of mice from such colony, if requested by BMS, for delivery as Mutant Mice. Thereafter, Lexicon shall [**]. For a period of [**], Lexicon shall retain a small back-up colony of approximately two cages of such Mutant Mice (approximately five mice per cage), for the purpose of replacing mice shipped to BMS under this Article 5 which die during or within [**] after shipment to BMS hereunder. In the event BMS requests that Lexicon maintain any such colony for a period of more than [**], BMS shall pay Lexicon a storage and maintenance charge of [**] for such requested line of Mutant Mice for each additional month that Lexicon maintains such colony at BMS's request.

Thereafter, until the expiration of [**] following the submission to the Steering Committee of the data from the last Advanced Phenotypic Analysis to be submitted to the Steering Committee in accordance with Section 3.7, Lexicon shall retain [**], if requested by Genentech. In the event Genentech requests that Lexicon maintain any such colony for a period of more than [**] after the delivery of a particular Knock-Out Mouse requested by Genentech under Section 7.1, Genentech shall pay Lexicon a storage and maintenance charge of [**] for such requested line of Knock-Out Mice for each [**] that Lexicon maintains such colony at Genentech's request.
