Maintenance Technician. 1. The maintenance technician position shall be considered a separate position within the Maintenance Department. Maintenance technician(s) shall be paid at the maintenance technician rate of pay identified in Appendix A. 2. The maintenance technician(s) will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain district facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes, including emergency and telecommunications equipment. 3. The maintenance technician will not be responsible for the supervision or evaluation of other bargaining unit members. 4. The maintenance technician position may be abolished in accordance with Article 15 of this Agreement. 5. All sections of Article 23 that are not inconsistent herewith shall be applicable to the position of maintenance technician.

Maintenance Technician. Notwithstanding a) above it is agreed that the Company may assign and schedule Operators to perform functions in other classifications, such as, Traffic, Switchboard, Production and Creative. 2.4.1 All articles of this Agreement shall apply to part-time employees, except as hereinafter provided: (a) Article 9.1 - Company seniority will be applied separately for part-time employees as a group distinct from full-time employees. Part-time employees who have subsequently been hired as full-time staff shall be probationary for a minimum period of three (3) months if the transfer is to a different job classification. The Company may extend the probationary period for a further three (3) months and, in such event, will advise the Local Union of the extension prior to the end of the initial probationary period. Maintenance Technician. The parties agree that the Company shall not be required to post and fill the position of Maintenance Technician as a result of this agreement. It is understood that in accordance with Article 10 the Company may contract out this work. The Company may extend any existing technical service agreements and arrangements. Should the Company decide to fill the position of Maintenance Technician it is agreed that such position will fall within the bargaining unit. Maintenance Technician. An Employee who has been assessed by the Company as competent to perform required tasks, including maintain, repair, overhaul, modify, assemble, and/or test aircraft, aircraft and non-aircraft systems, engines, aircraft and non-aircraft components, and/or associated equipment, in a variety of operating circumstances.
Maintenance Technician. The job qualifications for each assignment of employee are set forth in the Union Employee Handbook and Personnel Policy and Procedures Manual.
Maintenance Technician. A Maintenance Technician shall be any employee classified as a Maintenance Technician on the date of this Agreement, and any future employee assigned under this job classification that with the aid of tools can repair and maintain an aircraft, mechanical devices or parts in a satisfactory manner. A Maintenance Technician shall be responsible for the condition, assembly and functioning of the aircraft or its components for maintenance that has been certified under privileges of Bahamasair’s Quality Assurance approval authorization, the satisfactory performance of routine aircraft system checks as relevant to Bahamasair’s aircraft types which would include overnight and “A” or “B” checks, and the removal, replacement, repair, defect rectification, inspection and modification of aircraft components and systems. A Maintenance Technician shall be responsible for ensuring that work is performed and recorded in a satisfactory manner as required by the Bahamasair Quality Assurance department and the airworthiness authorities as per the current BASR 5.160, or as amended, maintain a good working relationship with his Supervisor, Co-Workers and other staff members throughout the Company, ensure that his/her work areas are kept clean and is responsible for the correct usage of engineering facilities, equipment, tools and ground equipment, perform any additional duties in line with the scope of his work that may be required by the Line Maintenance Supervisor.
Maintenance Technician a. Full time Maintenance Technicians shall work five, 8 1/2 hour work days per week, inclusive of a half hour unpaid lunch which shall be uninterrupted except for emergencies. Maintenance Technicians may flex their work day. b. All Maintenance Technicians shall be notified two weeks in advance of a permanent shift change. c. A 10 minute break shall be allowed for each 4 consecutive hours of work. d. Maintenance Technicians called to return to work outside of his/her regularly scheduled shift shall be paid a minimum of two (2) hours at the appropriate rate except in cases involving an extension of regular hours. Compensatory time off in lieu of monetary overtime compensation shall no longer be provided after June 30, 2024, and all compensatory time off accrued prior to that date shall be used no later than December 31, 2024. e. The District shall purchase two (2) uniforms or items of equal value per employee per year for Maintenance Technician employees, upon approval of the supervisor. f. Hours and shifts shall be determined by the employer.
