Common use of Majority Hours Clause in Contracts

Majority Hours. For the purpose of clarifying subclause 8.3(d), where the majority of the hours of the night shift fall on a particular day, the shift penalty payment that applies to that particular shift will be the shift penalty that applies to the majority of the hours. By way of example, a ten (10) hour nightshift, commencing at 6:00pm on Friday and finishing at 4:00am on Saturday would be deemed to be a ‘Friday shift’.
