Night Shift Work. (i) Notwithstanding anything elsewhere contained in this Agreement, it is agreed that an employer, may employ employees on night shift in accordance with the provisions of this clause. (ii) Night shift" is defined as any shift commencing at or between 11.00pm and 4.00am. (iii) The ordinary hours of night shift employees shall not exceed 36 in any week and will be worked in accordance with subclause 17.1. Such ordinary hours shall be worked continuously except for meal breaks at the discretion of the employer. No employee shall be required to work longer than five hours without a break for a meal. Such meal break shall be counted as time worked. Thirty minutes shall be allowed as a break for a meal. A night shift employee shall be allowed a rest period between the start of work and the meal break and a second rest period between the resumption of work after the meal break and the end of the shift. Each rest period is to be of fifteen minutes duration and are to be taken at such times as may be mutually arranged between the employer and the employees, such breaks to be counted as time worked. Provided that neither rest periods shall be allowed within one hour of normal commencement and/or cessation of work. The commencing and finishing times of ordinary hours of night shift employees shall be notified by the employer at least fourteen days prior to the commencement of the shift. (iv) A night shift employee shall be paid a 35% loading in addition to the ordinary rate. (v) The minimum rate to be paid to a night shift employee for work performed between midnight on Friday and midnight on Saturday shall be the rate for overtime work as prescribed in Clause 20 of this Agreement. (vi) Night shift employees, for all time worked in excess of or outside the ordinary working hours prescribed by this clause or on a shift other than a rostered shift shall be paid under the provisions of Clause 20 and Clause 15.1 of this Agreement. When overtime work is necessary it shall be so arranged that employees have at least ten consecutive hours off duty between the work of successive days. An employee who works so much overtime between the termination of his ordinary work on one day and the commencement of his ordinary work on the next day that he has not had at least ten consecutive hours off duty between those times shall be released after completion of such overtime until he has had ten consecutive hours off duty without loss of pay for ordinary working time occurring during ...

Night Shift Work. (a) Night shift means any shift commencing after 2.00 pm. The Ordinary Hours of night shift work will be an average of thirty-six (36) hours per week from Monday to Friday inclusive. (b) No rotational night shift work will be undertaken. Once an Employee is engaged on night shift work, they will continue to work the regular night shift roster until they return to day work. (c) The arrangements for night shift work will be: (1) Shift cycles must run for at least five (5) days duration. Where less than five (5) consecutive shifts are worked then Employees shall be paid for each shift, one half time extra for the first two (2) hours and time extra for the remaining hours in addition to the Base Hourly Rate. The consecutive nature of a shift will not be deemed to be broken if work is not performed on a Saturday, Sunday, Public Holiday or any RDO. (2) Forty-eight (48) hours notice of the commencement of shift work must be provided to affected Employee(s), other than in emergencies, or unless otherwise agreed. In the absence of forty-eight (48) hours notice, the Employer shall treat the hours worked as a normal work day and pay for all hours worked at appropriate penalty rates, until such time as the forty eight (48) hours since the request to commence shift work has lapsed. (d) Night Shift Penalties (1) All shifts worked between Monday and Friday shall attract a flat shift loading of 30% of the Employee’s Base Hourly Rate, for all hours that the Employee is engaged on those shifts. (2) All shifts worked between midnight Friday and midnight on Saturday shall attract a flat shift loading of 50% of the Employee’s Base Hourly Rate, for all hours that the Employee is engaged on those shifts. (3) All shifts worked between midnight Saturday and midnight on Sunday shall attract a flat shift loading of 100% of the Employee’s Base Hourly Rate, for all hours that the Employee is engaged on those shifts.
Night Shift Work. The Public works Director shall develop written procedures for night shift work that includes the following guidelines: 1. On November of each year, a sign-up list will be posted on the bulletin board of each separate road shop. 2. County will complete shift assignments for each classification by seniority. 3. If the level of expertise or crew size needed for the shift exceeds the volunteer list, County will make mandatory assignments from qualified employees within required classification in reverse order of seniority (beginning with least senior). 4. County agrees to make a good faith effort in implementing night shift work assignments. Assignment decisions shall not be subject to the grievance procedure.
Night Shift Work. 3.12.1 Night shift work is likely to be worked on the Works and as a condition of employment, the employees accept to work night shift work when required to do so by the Company. 3.12.2 The Company can require employees to work night shift work but before it does so, it must give 24 hours notice of intention to introduce night shift work. The notice will include advice of the intended starting and finishing times of the respective night shifts. However, less than 24 hours notice may be given in the event of safety or emergency requirements. 3.12.3 For the purposes of this clause, night shift work means any shift commencing at or after 6.00pm and finishing subsequent to midnight and at or before 8.00am. 3.12.4 Ordinary hours for night shift employees will average 36 hours per week over a defined work cycle. 3.12.5 Where less than five (5) consecutive night shifts are worked then employees shall be paid at overtime rates in lieu of shift loading, except when the night shift process has come to an end in the last week and less than five (5) consecutive days is required to finish the work. 3.12.6 The consecutive nature of night shifts will not be regarded as broken, if work is not carried out on an RDO, public holiday, Saturday or Sunday. 3.12.7 The ordinary hours on night shift work will include a paid meal break not exceeding 20 minutes. 3.12.8 In addition to the wages paid under this Agreement, employees on night shift work shall be paid a flat loading of 25% of the ordinary rate for each hour worked.
Night Shift Work. No employee will be required to work alone on a night shift. Any problems arising hereunder shall be referred to the procedures provided in Article 39, Section 6.
Night Shift Work. 4.6.1 Night shift is any shift commencing between 6pm and midnight, Monday to Friday. Employees scheduled to work a permanent night shift will receive a shift allowance of 30%.

  • Night Shift Employees who are required to work at least five-eighths of their normal daily tour of duty after 4:30 p.m. and before 8:00 a.m. shall be paid at the rate of five percent over and above his/her normal biweekly or hourly rate of pay for the entire shift so worked.

  • Shift Work Shift work is work not in excess of ordinary hours (ie 38 hours per week), but carried out wholly or partly between the hours of 7.00pm and 7.00am, Monday to Friday. Shift work is work scheduled at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of the shift. Employees required to work shift work will be paid at time and one quarter of the ordinary rate per hour for ordinary hours worked.

  • Night Work Employees who work at night as part of their normal working week are entitled to receive an enhancement of time and one third for all hours worked between 8.00 pm and 6.00 am.

  • Night Shift Premium All hours worked by an employee between ten (10:00) p.m. and seven (7:00) a.m. shall be considered as shift work and paid for at the applicable straight time/overtime rate plus two ($2.00) dollars per hour shift premium for each full hour worked during this period. Night-shift premium shall not be added to the employee’s hourly rate of pay for the purpose of computing overtime pay.

  • Night Shift Differential Unit 12 employees who regularly work shifts shall receive a night shift differential as set forth below: A. Employees shall qualify for the first night shift pay differential of forty (40) cents per hour where four (4) or more hours of the regularly scheduled work shift falls between 6 p.m. and 12 midnight. B. Employees shall qualify for the second night shift pay differential of fifty (50) cents per hour where four (4) or more hours of the regularly scheduled work shift fall between 12 midnight and 6 a.m. C. A "regularly scheduled work shift" are those regularly assigned work hours established by the department director or designee.

  • Extra Work At any time during the Term of this Agreement, City may request that Consultant perform Extra Work. As used herein, “Extra Work” means any work which is determined by City to be necessary for the proper completion of the Project, but which the Parties did not reasonably anticipate would be necessary at the execution of this Agreement. Consultant shall not perform, nor be compensated for, Extra Work without written authorization from City’s Representative.

  • Basic Work Week ‌ a) The basic work week of an employee working full- time shall be forty (40) hours consisting of five eight hour days; b) Daily hours of work shall be consecutive with the exception of rest and meal periods. No split shifts shall be worked; c) Employees shall not work longer than their regular, scheduled work day, unless requested to do so by Management; in which event, additional time will be paid at applicable regular or overtime rates. Employees are required to leave the store as soon as it is reasonable to do so.

  • Contract Work Contract work means capital project work within existing plant facilities, major maintenance and/or revamp work, plant modifications and/or shutdown work, minor maintenance and/or repair work, breakdown maintenance.

  • Day Work The Company shall structure the Project Working Hours to include one (1) half-hour rest break to be taken without deduction of pay by Employees working the Project Working Hours on any day (Monday to Saturday inclusive).

  • Project Work PURCHASER shall complete the following projects in accordance with the specifications provided in Exhibits B, C, D, E, and F and written instructions from STATE. Project locations are shown on Exhibit A unless otherwise described. PURCHASER shall furnish all material unless otherwise specified.
