Management of Change. Regular consultation between the Employer and the Union is desirable on matters of mutual concern and interest. The aim of mechanisms established for this purpose will be to reach agreement and to make recommendations to the Employer, who will endeavour to take the views of those groups into account as far as possible before making final decisions. In accordance with the principles contained above, the Employer agrees that the Union will be advised of any review (prior to commencement) which may result in significant changes to either the structure, staffing or work practices affecting employees, and will provide the Union with an opportunity to be involved in the review. When the implementation of decisions arising from any such reviews will result in staff surpluses the procedures below shall be adopted.
